    Humboldt Park Health's upcoming state-of-the-art Wellness Center will be the first of its kind in Humboldt Park. The Center will transform the neighborhood to a place that supports the physical, mental, and social well-being of those who live, learn, and visit the Humboldt Park community.

    Position Summary:

    This is a high-level position with multifaceted financial, personnel, and operational responsibilities.The HPH Wellness Center Director is a seasoned leader, dedicated to promoting the health & well-being of HPH's employees, patients and community members. This position is directly accountable for the daily operations, supervision, and financial success of HPH's Wellness Center, utilizing traditional health club services enhanced by health and wellness programs.

    Primary Duties:
    • Lead all Wellness Center operations, including pre-opening, setup, grand opening, and ongoing service excellence, ensuring all members, patients, and fellow associates are treated with genuine respect and care.
    • Maintain high visibility and effective communication to serve as an HPH wellness ambassador to members, patients, and the surrounding communities.
    • Develop and execute the business plan by monitoring club financials and tracking departmental financial results to ensure adherence to the budget and intended profitability.
    • Increase revenue through assertive membership growth, strong club utilization, and exceptional member retention.
    • Develop, implement, and evaluate an ongoing marketing plan to drive membership sales.
    • Establish systems to proactively solicit feedback from members about facilities, programs, staffing, and their overall satisfaction.
    • Assist in identifying and preparing capital request proposals, as well as developing future operational budgets based on the strategic goals of the Wellness Center.
    • Establish and maintain effective cost control measures by monitoring daily work flow for efficient and effective operations.
    • Provide visionary leadership and act as a positive role model for all Wellness Center employees.
    • Recruit, retain, and develop a dedicated direct report management team.
    • Oversee and improve club operations by managing associate performance and fostering a culture that inspires employees to excel.
    • Participate in the development and evaluation of ideas to ensure Wellness Center programs are safe, fun, social, and aligned with HPH's goals.
    • Partner with HPH's clinical teams in developing, promoting, and implementing medically integrated programs that enhance patient health outcomesandwell-being.
    • Network with physicians and key hospital administrators to effectively integrate fitness, wellness, and recreational programs with the medical community.
    • Participate in hospital meetings, events, and committee activities as requested.
    • Ensure that housekeeping tasks are performed and evaluated routinely in all areas of the Wellness Center to maintain a clean environment.
    • Ensure routine maintenance of the facility and all equipment, and that repairs are accomplished in a timely manner adhering to safety standards.
    • Encourage management team participation in community activities, volunteer work, and special events for HPH charities.
    • Maintain all relevant records and develop consistent reporting on the Wellness Center's KPIs.
    • Ensure all Wellness Center employees maintain CPR and First Aid Certification and understand all of HPH's emergency procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with local, state and federal health and safety standards, the timely renewal of permits and licenses necessary for operation, and compliance with insurance carrier safety regulations.
    • Additional responsibilities as requested.
    Position Requirements:
    • Requires a minimum of five years of demonstrated success as a General Manager or Director, managing operations in a health club or wellness center of at least 40,000 square feet.
    • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
    • Possess an academic understanding of health and wellness, complemented by a comprehensive grasp of business financials and operations.
    • Exhibit sophisticated written and verbal communication skills.
    • Demonstrate exceptional listening and customer service skills; be social, outgoing, and friendly.
    • Display competent decision-making with innovative approach to problem resolution.
    • Possess the agility to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment, ensuring effective management of multiple priorities.
    • Be an onsite leader who "leads by example" in professionalism, dress, demeanor, dedication, attention to member service, and employee care.
    • Maintain composure and act appropriately in moments when multiple unexpected challenges arise concurrently.
    • Maintain good health and physical strength, remaining on your feet for the majority of the workday, and capable of working without physical restrictions.
    • Possess a passion for fitness, health, athletics, and wellness.
    • Have previous sales and/or marketing experience.
    • Have experience with medical integration programs in a clinical setting.
    • CPR and First Aid certification required.
