- Responsible for customer service of Benefits; oversees; monitors calls; Benefits inbox; resolves issues; monitors/creates metrics; works directly with Sr. Specialists and Managers to ensure reasonable timeframes for issues resolution.
- Responsible for processing continuation of coverage, including mailing letters, tracking and collection of payments due.
- Assists with new hire benefits orientation and open enrollment presentations.
- Complies with government and state regulations and plan provisions to ensure equitable administration to employees.
- Investigates and resolves eligibility file issues; researches and resolves file discrepancies reported by carriers and/or audit findings.
- Responsible for promoting and enhancing voluntary benefits.
- Provides policy interpretation and clarifies procedures to HR and Department management.
- Assists in annual benefits open enrollment including plan design changes and testing; conducts open enrollment presentations.
- Recommends improvements to procedures or systems to increase productivity and increase employee awareness.
- Assists in identifying inefficiencies and areas in need of improvement.
- Leads special projects as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned or performs other duties when necessary.
- 2-5 years experience administering employee benefits or insurance benefit information.
- Work effectively and efficiently within strict deadlines as part of a team.
- Strong organization skills.
- Ability to self-manage in a fast-paced environment and to troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Strong knowledge of Excel and experience navigating online systems.
- Ability to receive, prioritize, and complete tasks from multiple sources with minimal supervision and must also
possess proven customer service skills. - Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and written communication skills.
- Ability to think creatively to solve problems.
- Experience working in a strong customer-service focused environment within the human resources, benefits,
retirement plan administration field strongly preferred. - Experience in developing educational and training materials.
