Nippon Seiki is a world-class manufacturer of instruments for vehicles, agricultural, and construction equipment. Ltd. is headquartered in Japan, with numerous facilities worldwide. International, Ltd.("NSI"), a group company of Nippon Seiki, located in Troy, MI, is a tier one supplier of instrument clusters and head-up display units for FCA US, General Motors, BMW, Honda, Harley Davidson, Suzuki, Polaris, Arctic Cat and other OEM's.
The Diversity, Inclusion, and Sustainability (DIS) intern will support NSNA in gathering consumption and emissions data from NSNA locations, validate the data gathered, and aid in streamlining the reporting process.
The intern will have the opportunity to be exposed to Automotive OEM initiatives related to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Environment, Social, Corporate Governance (ESG), and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Sustainability - Centralized Reporting System andDatabase Creation:
Creating a centralized reporting system and database to streamline the process of storing and reporting on sustainability metrics.
Create databases to organize and manage data efficiently.
Implement data validation procedures to ensure the integrity and reliability of information.
Sustainability - Verification, Analysis, and
Data Collection:
Gathering data on energy consumption, waste generation, and carbon emissions from various sources within the organization.
Verify data accuracy related to energy consumption, waste management, carbon emissions, and other sustainability metrics against data submitted internally and externally.
Analyze collected data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.Sustainability - Awareness
Support the creation of awareness campaigns and educational materials related to (Specific SDG).
Assist in the development and implementation of projects or initiatives aligned with (Specific SDG).
Education Recently graduated or currently pursuing a master's or bachelor's degree; preferably in Environmental Engineering or other Sustainability/Environmental degree.
Understanding of the IMDS (International Material Data System), and other environmental dataExcel
Automotive experience is preferred
Special Training or Competency Observation, understanding, and execution of applicable company ISO/TS/IATF certification standards related to the role and impact on the overall organization.
Includes setting high standards of performance for self and others. Organizing or adjusting information, people and materials to meet those goals.Finding ways to help the team or group perform effectively.
Work Hours Monday-Friday, 8 am – 5pm. Travel Requirements 5 % international and/or domestic.
If domestic travel is necessary, valid drivers' license is required.
If international travel is necessary, valid passport is required.
