Job Responsibilities
With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
This position is located at the Charleston Dorchester Mental Health Center, Dorchester office 106 Springview Lane Summerville SC 29485.
Responsibilities for this Position Title include but are not limited to:
Under close supervision, will provide mental health counseling and services to children, adolescent and their families open to Charleston Dorchester Mental Health Center. This is a School Mental Health position serving students at Charleston Dorchester County School District and is designed to increase access to care for this population. Services are primarily provided in the school but are also provided in both home and community settings, as well as the clinic.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Minimum Requirements:
A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
Agency (Facility) Minimum Requirements:
A Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited program, university, or college in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling or other behavioral discipline deemed equivalent by SCDMH.

Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of Mental Health legal principles and practices, of methods, principles and practices of clinical counseling and educational services. Considerable knowledge of psychopathology and patient management in psychiatric setting and working knowledge of basic health and welfare services provided by other agencies. Ability to effectively plan, coordinate and manage complex treatment and to the ability to conduct detailed investigations, draw conclusions and recommend required actions.

The employee maybe expected to use his or her personally owned vehicle frequently for business and will be reimbursed according to applicable State policies & procedures. The employee is required to have a serviceable personal vehicle and a valid driver's license. Communicates with recourses, families and professionals.
