Chantelle Kapp

Chantelle is a qualified family therapist, having obtained her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University. Prior to her work as a counselor, she collaborated with a range of conservation groups, establishing community projects and educational programs both locally and internationally. Her innate passion for children and communities ultimately led her to pursue a full-time career in mental health.
As a therapist, Chantelle specializes in a variety of areas, including working with children, adolescents, families, couples, and individuals. Her expertise extends to trauma, grief, loss, anxiety, depression, neurodiversity, and other emotional disorders related to childhood. She takes a holistic approach to therapy, considering each person's unique needs, as well as the dynamics involved in partner and family relationships.

As a professional marriage and family intern, I maintained accurate and up-to-date client records and progress notes to effectively document each session. I utilized evidence-based interventions to improve the overall mental health and well-being of my clients. Additionally, I educated clients and their families on mental health and behavioral issues, providing them with valuable resources and guidance. I conducted individual and family therapy sessions that helped improve communication and conflict resolution within the family. Through the implementation of family therapy interventions, I improved the dynamics within the family system. Furthermore, I provided education on safety, self-management, and community resources for patients and families. I designed and implemented a family health plan that resulted in enhanced health and well-being for all family members and collaborated with family members to develop and implement a family lifestyle plan that improved overall well-being. Lastly, I provided emotional support and counseling to patients and family members during difficult times to help them cope with illness, treatment, and recovery.

As the overseer of feature articles, I work with the writing staff to generate ideas and ensure the layout, appearance, and content are all top-notch. I commission articles from both in-house and freelance writers, manage the writing staff and freelancers, and edit and re-write articles as needed. Artwork, design, and photography for the features section of the magazine all fall under my purview, and I attend photo shoots to ensure everything runs smoothly. I also organize meetings with writers and artists to discuss ideas for artwork, layout, and features, and negotiate payments with freelance writers. Before anything goes to press, I proofread all pages to ensure they are error-free. Additionally, I work to raise the profile of the magazine and network with conservation groups to implement wildlife educational programs.
