Job Responsibilities

With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.

This position will be located at 180 Lockwood Blvd, Charleston, SC 29403.

Under limited supervision, provides clinical assessments and therapeutic services for children, adolescents, adults, and their families who have interacted with local law enforcement agencies.

This position will service children, adults, and families who have witnessed or experienced violence or have other mental health needs.

This clinician will be embedded at the City of Charleston Police Department.

Expectation of meeting patients where they are (physically; at home, or in the community) to include safety in the field training.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State

Minimum Requirements:
A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.

Agency (DMH)

Minimum Requirements:

A master's or doctorate degree from an accredited program, university, or college in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling, or other behavioral discipline deemed equivalent by SCDMH and (1) one year of post-graduate experience in a clinical counseling program.
