    Job Description

    The Manager of Business Affairs is an integral part of the team, responsible for assessing and managing risk associated with content programs secured through media buys for Publicis Media. You will understand the media landscape and experience negotiating content deals across all forms of media, with an emphasis on digital, and will understand legal issues relating to content production. Also, you will be asked to work with multiple stakeholders including senior management, client operations, finance and legal counsel.

    You will report to the President, Publicis Media Operations and Client Governance.

    This is a hybrid role, requiring three days in-office each week. If you are contacted for an interview, your recruiter will discuss specifics with you, inclusive of any necessary reasonable accommodations.

    Location: We are looking for support for East Coast and Central hours.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide support to the media teams in understanding and complying with agreement terms and conditions for content programs.
    • Negotiate, draft, and administer several media partner agreements.
    • Partner with agency legal to manage and mitigate the risks associated with content. In particular, identify risk relating to intellectual property, the regulatory environment, SAG-AFTRA Union regulations, Ensure agency best practices are adhered to, while simultaneously moving content programs forward to guarantee launch.
    • Someone who is comfortable working both independently and within group dynamics, can implement procedures while monitoring content programs.
    • Support a heavy volume of correspondence and contracts. A high degree is expected regarding all matters and documents.
    • Collaborate with agency legal to ensure compliance with all legal issues and agency/client directives and to assess risk.
    • Vet vendors for FTC compliance with contracting guidelines.
    • Lead weekly status meetings with content and investment teams to review content programs in the development and active stage, discuss legal matters, timelines,
    • Be a true partner, work with our broader Business Affairs department located across the U.S.
    • Implement internal educational training on content, legal issues and how to involve Business Affairs.
    Qualifications
    • 2 years of related experience within media/advertising agencies or media partners.
    • Familiarity with Standard Terms and Conditions for Internet Advertising for Media Buys One Year of Less and industry issues relating to digital media buys. Awareness of the regulatory environment; FTC disclosures for native advertising and social; SAG-AFTRA Union regulations.
    • General familiarity/understanding of copyright, IP, talent, third party rights, trademark.
    • Drafting skills and an understanding of legal terms and strategy.
    • Project management skills.

    Compensation Range: $70,000 - $110,000 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
