    Description

    Purpose:

    Boutique literary agency seeks a full-time Executive Director, Legal and Business Affairs, with expertise in entertainment law, contract law, intellectual property law, and business law, to manage day-to-day Legal and Business Affairs for an independent literary agency. This role reports to Equity Partners and the Managing Partner, collaborating with Non-Equity Partners to develop and execute a scalable Legal and Business Affairs strategy aligned with company values and goals.     Your Profile:

    The ideal candidate is conscientious, detail-oriented, self-directed, and highly organized with a minimum of five years of relevant experience. They are a critical thinker, problem-solver, adept at managing various stakeholders, handling a high volume of deals, and working with different personalities. Strong communication, research skills, and familiarity with entertainment law, contract law, intellectual property law, and business law are essential. JD required. Experience in a small business, client-centric industry, and/or book publishing is a plus. The right hire thrives in a creative, client-focused work environment.

    Compensation and Benefits:

    Compensation: $200K + annual discretionary bonus.

    Benefits: Medical coverage with premium covered by company, vision, dental insurance available with partial premium covered, 401(k) plan after 1 year, 23 days paid vacation, 10 holidays + 1 floating holiday, Summer Fridays 9-1 from Memorial Day-Labor Day.
