    Director of IT
    100% Remote

    The IT Director plays a key role within our organization by providing leadership and strategic thinking to our software development, quality assurance, systems administration, and DevOps teams.

    The IT Director develops and executes a robust IT strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives.

    They play a crucial role in driving technological innovation, shaping the digital roadmap and ensuring the successful implementation of technology initiatives within the company.

    Responsibilities

    Leads the overall development, systems, and internal support operations which provides the environment for enterprise level SaaS products for healthcare and other industry and achieves the directives and strategies set by executive management.

    Manages IT staffing and personnel through interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; mentoring, guiding and coaching employees; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues.

    Oversees the development and implementation of scalable and secure technology systems, software solutions, and infrastructure.
    Identities and evaluates the latest technologies, assessing their potential for strategic advantage and business impact.
    Assists in the development and implementation of short- and long-term software plans.
    Oversees the technical aspects of the company, including systems architecture, software development, network infrastructure and data security.

    Establish and maintain efficient and reliable technology operations, including systems infrastructure, network, data management and security protocols for high performance, uptime and data integrity.

    Directs operations in executing production tasks according to a documented schedule as agreed upon.

    Ensures the sustainability of existing applications through ongoing maintenance in keeping technical components up-to-date and upholding best practices and standards for secure software development.

    Establishes security standards and best practices for software development and systems administration and ensures policies are fully documented.
    Evaluates the company's adherence to federal technology requirements for security.
    Evaluates the company's adherence to ADA compliance requirements.
    Fosters a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

    Collaborates with Sales and Customer Experience teams by providing IT representation on calls with customers and providing assistance with technical architecture documentation.

    Communicates with the Product Owner to ensure systems developments and architecture are in sync with the current software development priorities.

    Maintains IT security plan, policies and ensures secure practices are followed.
    Ensures business continuity by maintaining disaster recovery, back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
    Functions as a strong contributor to the leadership team, participating in special projects and initiatives as required.
    Develops, manages and adheres to the IT department budget.
    Reports to executive management.
    Supports, communicates, reinforces, and defends the mission, values, philosophy and culture of the organization.

    Skills
    Significant experience in all phases of the development lifecycle
    Expert level knowledge of software development and cloud architecture
    In depth knowledge of scalable AWS architecture and security
    Experienced using Agile/Scrum methodology throughout the SDLC
    Knowledge and experience with LAMP stack architecture
    Hands-on experience in all relevant coding languages e.g., PHP, Python and front-end development with Javascript and AJAX
    Knowledge of scalable AWS architecture and security
    Experience with IT security best practices
    Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel
    Ability to work in a in fast-paced and agile environment
    Excellent leadership skills; able to inspire and motivate others; displays passion and optimism
    Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale technology projects, delivering results on time and within budget.

    Education and Experience
    BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering required or related field or equivalent experience.
    MS or MBA a plus
    Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, AWS a plus.
    10+ years developing enterprise grade commercial software as a Software Engineer
    5+ years of leadership experience of technical teams
