Position Summary


The Director of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for overseeing the IT operations to support park management for activities at Playland.

This role will be responsible for managing employees within the IT department, liaising with other departments to ascertain their technological requirements, and developing solutions that are aligned with our organization's objectives.


To be successful as an IT director, you should have an excellent technical aptitude, as well as superior project and people management skills.

Ultimately, an outstanding IT director should maintain smooth, secure, and updated technical operations within an organization.


At Playland, the IT department will be responsible for providing IT services for the overall site's operation and for coordinating vendor relationships: point-of-sale technology, audio-visual technology, communication - telephones, data, two-way radios, service providers, and software providers.


The starting salary is $150,000 per year, and the salary, bonus, and benefits are commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:


  • Leads development and implementation processes for the organization's IT systems and department
  • Directs and works with operating departments; the maintenance of services and the implementation of new programs and/or processes for the purpose of providing services within established timeframes and in compliance with related requirements
  • Develop and implement business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergencies or data loss
  • Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure
  • Ensuring the maintenance of current projects and technology systems
  • Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs
  • Proposing strategic solutions and recommending new systems and software
  • Develops or coordinates the development of software programs or systems
  • Building and maintaining relationships with external advisors and vendors
  • Oversees security of systems, networks, and enterprise information
  • Facilitates IT security audits or investigations
  • Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers
  • Assemble, disassemble, repair, install, and deinstall IT equipment, computers, and related equipment approved for use
  • Maintain accurate inventories of equipment while maintaining an organized, safe, and clean work area
  • Conduct regular training sessions with key personnel when needed
  • Oncall availability to respond to and resolve critical ITrelated issues with park staff and/or vendors in a timely manner
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Hires and trains IT staff
  • Schedules, organizes and assigns projects to members of the IT team
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy

Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Must be a progressive forwardthinking visionary within the technology industry with a focus on enduser experiences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in the latest technology for IT systems and management, such as Cisco Meraki
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 or related software
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be available nights, weekends, and/or holidays, primarily during the park's operating season and to ensure the timely completion of any offseason work

Certifications and Technical:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent combination of education/experience) required
  • 5+ years of experience in IT operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Industryrecognized certifications preferred (CCNP level or equivalent)
  • Understanding of switching technologies (VLANs, Spanning-Tree, VPC)
  • Understanding of security technologies, including firewalls, VPN, and Remote Access solutions
  • Knowledge of VoIP equipment and operation and QoS configuration
  • Extensive experience with Meraki Wireless networking to include; 802.11ax APs and 802.11x
  • Knowledge of commercial enterpriselevel tools and products to provide network services, including Cisco Umbrella, IPS/IDS, EDR/MDR
  • Working knowledge of Active
