    General Purpose of the Position:

    Responsible for establishing and maintaining profitable relationships with customers on behalf of the company. Actively prospecting for new accounts/clients and maximizing sales potential with existing customers. The Outside Sales Representative is the primary external representative for our organization for all assigned accounts and is a key educator of our clients. The Outside Sales Representative is accountable for meeting the monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and sales goals established by the company. The sales and strategic marketing activities of the team will be designed to achieve these revenue goals.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify prospects, customers, and referral sources and develop/maintain relationships to ensure attainment of company business goals. Provide support efforts to consistently grow the base of referral sources.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, needs, concerns and issues in a timely manner.
  • Actively manage short and long term leads from internal and external referral sources to qualify prospects and advance them through the sales process.
  • Effectively present and discuss the services of the company, soliciting only those desired services provided by the company to current and prospective customers in a way that conveys an image of quality, integrity and superior delivery of customer's needs.
  • Continuously seek out new business and development opportunities to expand the customer base.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers through effective sales strategies.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and target markets. Draw conclusions from market assessment data on the competitive environment versus the company's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and targets, and provide recommendations as needed.
  • Utilize our CRM systems to track and manage customer interactions and sales activities.
  • Develop strategic sales plan that identifies prospects and customers, prioritizes them according to importance and ability to produce results.
  • Understand and comply with the sales system/process in place. Follow systems and procedures outlined in the company manuals.
  • Effectively collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction, objectives are met and successful account management.
  • Keep up to date with market data, company services, and locations where it is provided.
  • Follow systems and procedures outlined in the company manuals.
  • Participate as a key team player by supporting operations as needed. Assists in developing and implementing contract processes.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Proven industry sales experience or a related field.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and maintain long-term relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. As well as good math skills.
  • Strong sales aptitude, able to close sales deals. With a solid understanding of market trends and competition.
  • Ability to identify and meet customers' needs and requirements.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, and driven to achieve sales targets and goals. Proactive, and a problem solver. -Proficiency in using CRM systems for managing sales activities
  • Ability to analyze, organize, summarize, and articulate complex legal and financial information. -Able to read and interpret agreements and implement the relevant provisions of such.
  • Responsive, proactive team player with strong leadership skills.
  • Task and goal oriented with capacity to function in both corporate and entrepreneurial settings. -Ability to work with multiple supervisors, owners, and staff.
  • Ability to relate to all individuals in the organization, clients, and prospects while being persuasive and decisive on matters relating to essential functions of position.
  • Must be timely, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining control and order.
  • Valid state motor vehicle operator's license, car insurance, and clean driving record.
  • Fully bilingual; bilingual; read, write and speak English and Spanish, required. Other languages, a plus.
  • Computer Equipment and Software Requirements:

  • Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook.
  • Microsoft CRM Dynamics a plus.
  • Education and Experience Required:

  • College degree in a related field or equivalent experience is a must.
  • 5+ years of experience in the Cargo/Freight forwarding Industry, preferable with NVOCC or 4+ years of experience in outside sales role.
