    Sales Event Manager - Fort Lauderdale, United States - Sheraton Suites Cypress Creek

    The Sheraton Suites Cypress Creek has an exciting opportunity to join our team as the Sales & Events Manager


    Responsibilities:

    • Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
    • High school graduate or equivalent; college degree in hospitality management or business preferred.
    • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
    • Familiarity with the local economy and market conditions.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
    • Familiarity with Sales and Marketing tools (CI/TY).
    • Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele.
    • Understand the operations of the hotel, including FB, guest services, reservations, banquets, group blocks, etc.
    • Participate in active sales solicitation, uphold policies and selling techniques with an emphasis on maximizing occupancy and ADR, and network through participation in community and professional associations, and events. Responsible for booking group rooms, with or without FB, in all markets.
    • Prepare proposals, contracts, and assist in site inspections.
    • Follows proper event management procedures for event execution to include but not limited to BEO creation, FB forecasting, resume communication, amenity/VIP designation, and room block management.
    • Produce and distribute accurate banquet/catering event orders, timelines, diagrams, and resumes within the timeframe set by the hotel.
    • Coordinate Site Inspection Alerts, Customer Reservations, FB Needs, Amenities, Welcome Letters, etc.
    • Provide hotel support including following up on outstanding responses, calling, and emailing clients with responses, and answering requests.
    • Assist in logistical support for small groups and catering meetings for key clients.
    • Be familiar with all company policies and benefits.
    • All other duties assigned.
    • Must be available to execute events for guest satisfaction as needed.
    • Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts, as required to meet the needs of the Company's business operations

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in sales in the hospitality industry.
    • Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
    • High school graduate or equivalent; college degree in hospitality management or business preferred.
    • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
    • Familiarity with the local economy and market conditions.
