- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and functioning properly.
- Scrub into surgical procedures and assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, and other supplies as needed.
- Circulate in the operating room, coordinating patient care, monitoring safety standards, and maintaining a sterile field throughout the procedure.
- Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy procedures with skill and precision, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Administer conscious sedation to patients undergoing procedures, monitoring their response and vital signs throughout the sedation process.
- Assist with positioning and prepping patients for surgery, ensuring proper alignment and adherence to infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and support staff, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education, support, and reassurance throughout the surgical experience.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of [Insert State].
- Minimum of two years of operating room nursing experience required.
