    We are looking for a Head of Corporate Accounting to join our Accounting Team at Anthropic.

    In this role, you will oversee the financial close process and reporting, as well as ad hoc projects as they arise.

    Responsibilities:
    Manage month-end and quarter-end close calendar, checklist, and reconciliations, and lead the accounting team in monthly and quarter close flux presentations with management
    Ensure proper accounting procedures, internal controls, and compliance with accounting policies and regulations and ultimately ensure accuracy of financial statements and related reports
    Take ownership and accountability over accurate and timely financial reporting to stakeholders
    Support the preparation of financial statements, supporting schedules, and reports in compliance with US GAAP and relevant reporting standards
    Identify and implement financial close tool to automate accounting processes where possible
    Assist in and prepare technical accounting areas including ASC 842, ASC 718, and others
    Implement accounting policies as needed by leveraging technical accounting guidance and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to obtain relevant information in order to form a basis for conclusions
    Collaborate with external auditors, prepare audit schedules, and ensure on-time completion of such timelines
    Supervise and lead the GL accounting team, including hiring, training, and creating a collaborative and productive work environment
    You may be a good fit if you:

    Have 6+ years of accounting experience, preferably in startup or high-growth environments with 2+ years of experience in a public company
    Hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or equivalent
    Are proficient in NetSuite or a similar accounting software
    Exhibit strong organizational and time-management abilities
    Possess a keen attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

    Strong candidates may also:
    Have experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
    Have the ability to meet deadlines without sacrificing the quality of your work product
    Be comfortable with handling ambiguity and working with minimal supervision
    Take the initiative to apply their knowledge of processes and systems and recommend well-considered improvements
    Exhibit knowledge of how to implement a change and good instinct in predicting its effects, and knowledge of how to "get it right" the first time
    Annual Salary (USD)

    The expected salary for this position is $230k USD.
    Logistics
    Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in our office at least 25% of the time.

    Compensation and Benefits*Anthropic's compensation package consists of three elements: salary, equity, and benefits.

    We are committed to pay fairness and aim for these three elements collectively to be highly competitive with market rates.

    Equity

    • On top of this position's salary (listed above), equity will be a major component of the total compensation. We aim to offer higherthanaverage equity compensation for a company of our size, and communicate equity amounts at the time of offer issuance.

    • This compensation and benefits information is based on Anthropic's good faith estimate for this position as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. Employees based outside of the UK or US will receive a different benefits package. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors, including where you place on our internal performance ladders, which is based on factors including past work experience, relevant education, and performance on our interviews or in a work trial.
