- Serve as a strong partner and key support resource to the company
- Recruit top talent for all needed positions: salaried, full-time, part-time, temporary, contract, and internship
- Build relationships and communicate effectively with business leaders to ascertain developmental needs across the company and to fill approved requisitions in a timely manner. Anticipate the needs of the business and improve both quality and time to fill
- Continuously improve recruiting and hiring practices to attract high quality talent for all roles, and ensure a robust selection process and positive candidate experience for all
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with external staffing agencies
- Assist in the creation of job positions, job descriptions, and pay grading
- Attend career fairs and other events to promote a positive company image and to communicate the various opportunities provided by Cavender's
- Coordinate and oversee special projects within the community that aid in the increasing our qualified pool as well as our brand
- Oversee onboarding for new Home Office Associates and provide resources to ensure a quality onboarding experience for Associate in the Stores
- Assess the needs of the organization and match with the needs high potential Associates
- Assist new and existing associates in creating a career path strategy
- Work closely with department leaders to retain top talent
- Maintain the employee satisfaction and retention program
- 5+ years of experience in Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Staffing, Human Resource Management, or related fields
- Demonstrated experience actively serving as a strategic business partner for all parts of an organization
- Functional expertise in all aspects of Talent Management, to include Acquisition, Development, Performance, Staffing/Labor Management, Career Coaching, and Succession Planning
- Must be hands-on and capable of independently producing work with limited support staff and resources
- Ability to interpret documents
- Ability to apply abstract principles to a wide range of complex tasks
- Ability to understand the meanings of words and effectively respond
- Ability to comprehend complex issues and communicate
- Associate must be able to understand English
- Associate must be able to stay alert during work hours assigned
- Based in Tyler, TX at our home office; Tyler area residence
- Ability to travel 30% of the time
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Marketing, Business, or related field preferred
- 5+ years in a geographically distributed, multi-unit retail environment is preferred
- SHRM and/or PHR/SPHR Certification preferred
- Ability to handle confidential matters with maximum discretion
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to develop and present new ideas
- Complex problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects at once in a fast-moving environment
- Ability to network and maintain professional relationships

Description
OverviewThe Talent Manager is a management position in the Human Resource Department responsible for overseeing the hiring process as well as developing and retaining talented employees. This manager role is focused on acquiring talent in all aspects of the business, including Home Office, Store Operations, and Fulfillment/Distribution. The Talent Manager will provide leadership and expertise in all staffing matters, from high-level individual hires, to store level large-scale seasonal hiring processes and enhancements. This position reports to the VP of HR. This role requires a high degree of discretion, good judgement and tact. The Talent Manager is an advocate for job candidates, Associates and Cavender's as a whole. A focus on successful internal succession planning and a strong partnership with Training & Development will be the hallmark of success in the role. The Talent Manager must possess exceptional interpersonal skills and develop a good rapport with internal and external customers to achieve business objectives. This role has a strong focus on the candidate experience and professionalism.
