    and the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) are pleased to announce the joint search for the Director of the Clement McDonald Center for Biomedical Informatics at Regenstrief Institute (CBMI).

    This is an extraordinary opportunity for a visionary leader to provide intellectual and academic leadership and administrative oversight to the Center.

    The Clement McDonald Center for Biomedical Informatics (CBMI) focuses on improving health care through informatics innovation and implementation.

    The Center is known for developing and applying health information technology solutions to generate knowledge about health, disease, and treatment, helping clinicians make optimal decisions, empowering patients, and informing healthcare policy.

    The domains include clinical applications, computer-based decision support, AI, advanced analytics, healthcare information standards, and global health.

    The director will facilitate collaboration and community development with 42 affiliated scientists and other external partners and advance interdisciplinary research partnerships across Regenstrief and the life sciences community within Indiana.


    Regenstrief Institute is a dynamic, independent research organization that, for more than 50 years, has continuously supported Indiana University and Indiana University's School of Medicine as it carries out its mission to develop, conduct, and disseminate impactful scientific research in health systems and across communities.

    On the campus of Indiana University Indianapolis, the Institute's partners include Indiana University, IUSM, Eskenazi Health, IU Health, the Richard L.

    Roudebush Veterans' Administration Medical Center, the Indiana Health Information Exchange, and the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI), among others.


    IU School of Medicine is the only allopathic medical school in the state and the largest medical school in the country.

    Basic Qualifications


    The successful candidate will have a strong background in the above-mentioned domains and documented success in strategic planning, leadership, and long-range program development.

    The administrative expectations include faculty and staff leadership, programmatic oversight, recruitment, and fiscal responsibilities. Minimum qualifications include an MD, MD/PhD, or PhD. An appropriate academic appointment and Department home will be determined based on academic credentials.

    The individual selected for this position must be a highly accomplished leader with exceptional communication, interpersonal, and change management skills and demonstrate a solid commitment to upholding our core values, including promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
