- Recruit, train and develop Peer Review staff.
- Manage and assess performance of the Peer Review team.
- Foster teamwork and collaboration among Peer Review team members and serve as a resource.
- Be responsible for program development and establish best practice.
- Work with business and systems analysts to develop Peer Review processes.
- Serve as primary support to identify and request additional reports, be liaison for needed software build, upgrades, and related testing for Peer Review software
- Report on an ongoing basis to the Practitioner Excellence Committee (PEC) and Peer Review Subcommittees on matters regarding Peer Review Committee and Subcommittee performance and metrics, with rollup to the Medical Executive Committee (MEC) and Leadership Council.
- Manage and monitor internal key indicator metrics by gathering individual and trend data about individual Medical Staff performance to identify concerns for escalation.
- Serve as liaison between Medical Staff Services and other departments and business teams within the organization.
- Coordinate and lead educational sessions with members of the Medical Staff, coding department, business line staff or any other entity involved in advancement of clinical documentation integrity.
- Gather and analyze information pertinent to documentation findings and outcomes to drive quality and revenue initiatives that will benefit the El Camino Health System.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or healthcare related field; Masters preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of direct patient care experience as a healthcare professional or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 years of Peer Review leadership experience in an inpatient hospital.
- CPHQ Certification, preferred
- California RN licensure
