    Overview:

    Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).     Responsibilities:

    The Information Technology Directorate is looking for a high-performing individual to join our team as a Jr. Systems Administrator (Infrastructure Analyst I).

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in the management and maintenance of Server Operating Systems on both classified and unclassified networks.
    • Assist patching efforts and remediate cyber vulnerabilities within server systems per established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
    • Support account provisioning and management activities in classified and unclassified environments to ensure compliance with all requirements.
    • Assist in writing security plans, performing certification, and accreditation tests to validate security policies are in place.
    • Collaborate with more experienced technical personnel on medium and high complexity projects to design, install, implement new or modify existing systems.
    • Utilize PowerShell, Ansible, and other automation technologies to improve processes and reduce support efforts.
    • Support deployment of projects including racking all varieties of hardware, cabling, and OS installation.
    • Report Key Performance Indicators, including capacity planning and system health.
    • Create knowledge articles, schematic diagrams, and supporting documentation.
    • Participate in problem management and root cause analysis as needed.
    • Resolve service desk tickets as assigned and maintain 24x7 availability for monitoring of enterprise systems as required.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelors degree in a computer related field or equivalent training and experience.
    • At least one year of experience with Windows Server 2012R2, 2016, 2019, Active Directory, Group Policy Management desired.
    • At least one year of experience with scripting languages (i.e., PowerShell, Ansible) desired.
    • Knowledge managing cloud platforms preferred (Azure, AWS, etc.).
    • Working knowledge of networking technologies including TCP/IP, DHCP, VLAN, various WAN technologies.
    • Ability to interpret requirements into system design and evaluate the solution for a particular client's need.
    • Ability to creatively and resourcefully problem-solve both independently and with a team.
    • Ability to lead by example and promote a positive, collaborative team environment.
    • Ability to secure systems and applications using the DISA STIGs as a baseline.
    • The primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas.
    • Schedule for this position will be 4/10s or 5/8s (subject to change).
    • Personnel may be requested by leadership to work in excess of 40 hours per week due to projects, activities, and emergences; critical operational demands may occasionally require off-shift work.
    • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
    • Must possess a valid drivers license.

    MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment. In addition, Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, Personnel Security. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.

    Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites, will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.

    Hourly salary range for this position is: $ $42.33.

    Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
