    Description

    Victoria is currently undergoing a rapid transition to a decentralised and renewable electricity grid and the adoption of large-scale renewable energy generation. The role of the Program Manager Natural Environment (Energy Projects) is to lead regional environmental assessment for renewable energy and transmission line projects, with a focus on offshore wind. It will also involve engaging with key stakeholders including proponents and relevant parties across local, state and federal government.

    The Natural Environment Program and Planning and Approvals teams in each DEECA region provide input on major development projects, including pre-planning engagement, participation in technical reference groups, and contributing to formal assessment of projects under environmental legislation.

    In this role you will combine your significant body of technical knowledge in environmental impact assessment with a strong people focus, contribute to sound decision making processes, and facilitate the delivery of Victoria's renewable energy goals.

    Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification related to natural resource management or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in environmental impact assessment processes, with mandatory working knowledge of
  • biodiversity legislation, and desirable knowledge of statutory planning processes.

    • There are 2 fixed term positions available until 30 June 2025. The work location for these positions is Gippsland and Barwon South West with hybrid work arrangements available.
