LAMP Photography Instructor Job Description
Reports To:
Youth Services Manager
Position Duration :
June 11, 2024- August 13, 2023
**Schedule: Tuesdauy/ Wednesday/ Thursday -10:30am
- 5:00pm**
Summary: The LAMP Photography instructor will teach youth skills relevant to their content area as it relates to photography, entrepreneurship, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create a fun and interactive learning experience with photography students
- Keep photography students engaged with interactive learning by helping students learn how to use cameras and editing photos
- Create/deliver lesson plans for each instructional day.
- Communicate individual student needs to Youth Program Coordinator providing academic, emotional and personal supports for students as needs are determined
- Integrate continuous connection to professional development for each youth, equipping them for employment opportunities, navigation through the workforce and entrepreneurial opportunities
- Ability to meet deadlines and produce deliverables; prepare all students to participate in a yearend event, showcasing their accomplishments and allowing sales of their individual products
- Demonstrate collaborative efforts with LBCAP and other departments, to support the overall mission and goals of LBCAP
- Mentor youth years old) as they develop products and services to generate income and create jobs.
- Manage photography equipment and complete proper inventory logs.
- Provide Youth Program Coordinator with daily program updates.
- Stable attendance, student participation, improved selfefficacy, collective attitude and commitment to personal success of all students
- Collaborate with LAMP departments to host a culminating event and showcase at the conclusion of the semester, highlighting student accomplishments and individual products.
- Build new professional and mentorship relationships with artists, organizations and industry professionals and strengthen existing relationships with such entities
- Provide mentoring with students to develop their photography skills
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Certificates:
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Art & Design, Photography (preferred)
Minimum of 4 years experience in professional Photography
Minimum of 2 years experience teaching Photography (youth preferred)
Knowledge:
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Work Environment:
Work is performed in an classroom/office environment; frequent contact with other staff and public; moderate level of noise.
The nature of this position may also require to working outdoors in all weather conditions including wet, hot, and cold.
Physical Demands:
Position requires sitting, standing, walking on level and unleveled surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, and crouching in the performance of daily activities.
Travel Requirements:
Some local travel within the agency's service area
