- Guides designated staff toward accomplishment of MTNs Mission and goals; including scheduling, training and development, coaching and counseling.
- Directs work planning: approves call schedules, time accounting and vacation requests, ensuring compliance with established policies.
- Serves as mentor to new staff by coordinating and participating in orientation and regular meetings to assess progress.
- Assesses and guides performance of assigned staff through on-site interactions.
- Assists the Director, Organ Allocation and Referral Services with staff selection, performance reviews, salary, promotional recommendation, and disciplinary actions.
- Provides ongoing staff training to ensure compliance with policies and staff development, in conjunction with the clinical educator and OP leadership team.
- Maintains current knowledge in the field through participation in NATCO, ABTC and AOPO.
- Maintains current knowledge of MTN, OPTN and UNOS policies and CMS regulations.
- Maintains professional relationships and rapport with leadership, medical, nursing, and ancillary staff within and outside of the organization.
- Actively and positively promotes the Mission and goals of MTN at all times.
- Provides information and interacts with MTN leadership on procurement issues to maintain a high level of service and support.
- Collaborates closely with Organ Procurement Leadership to ensure consistency and efficiency in donor evaluation, management, and recovery.
- Participates in administrative call schedule to ensure efficient operation of donor activities.
- Performs all responsibilities of an OPT and participates in the role when necessary.
- Provides regular ongoing on-site support and competency assessment.
- Provides oversight for all aspects of the OPT role.
- Regularly assesses and identifies opportunities for improvement in processes and leads/coordinates improvement efforts.
- Undergraduate degree in health sciences or equivalent required. RN licensure, or other allied health certification preferred. Master's degree preferred. Three years experience as a procurement coordinator or similar role in the organ procurement industry preferred.
- Active CPTC certification required.
- Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and participate in 24-hour call. Required to work for extended periods of time with few breaks.
- Strong organizational, problem analysis and decision-making skills. Demonstrated ability to motivate peers and achieve cooperation.
- Detailed oriented, organized, excellent tracking/reporting skills, effective written and verbal communication.
- Microsoft office proficiency required.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license in accordance with MTN motor vehicle policy. Must have reliable personal automobile transportation to be used with company reimbursement using IRS guidelines. Must be able to travel within the service area by ground or air.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and transfer short distances.
- Possess ability to operate telephones, computers and surgical equipment.
- Ability to speak and communicate clearly in order to accurately convey information to donor families, hospital staff and transplant/procurement personnel in person or by phone.
- OSHA Category II Occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens while performing assigned job duties. Bloodborne pathogens protection is required.

Description
Responsible for day-to-day oversight, mentoring, education, and evaluation of the Organ Procurement Technician (OPT) Team in collaboration with the Director, Organ Allocation and Referral Services. Assists in coordination of procurement efforts in pursuit of maximizing the number and quality of organs recovered and transplanted.
