We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for requirements gathering, report development, implementation, and maintenance of business-critical reports. Some low-level database maintenance tasks will be expected. If you have a strong background in data analysis, structured query language (SQL), and report design we want to hear from you

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Help Desk Support
Regularly examine data reports to locate and resolve mistakes throughout.
Support various departments, including finance, accounting, and sales, in reaching their goals through analysis.
Monitor data to identify changes in financial and business trends.
Create reports and develop tools and processes to automate reports.
Analyze large amounts of data relating to sales, customers, or financial performance.
Use Structured Query Language (SQL) and other coding languages to extract data.
Align reports to business objectives and key performance indicators.
Collaborate with other business areas and leaders to identify reporting needs.
Access existing databases and create processes for storage of new data.
Maintain databases and perform updates as necessary to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Assist with special projects and tasks assigned by management

Qualifications & Requirements:
One to three years of experience as a financial or business analyst.
One to three years of experience developing SQL queries, views, and stored procedures.
Experience in Microsoft Dynamics, object-oriented programming, and other data analysis programs preferred.
Analytical skills that allow for the development of data-driven reports.
Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritize projects to meet deadlines.
Ability to use SQL and Microsoft Excel to create pivot tables, graphs, and charts.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively relate data to coworkers.
Excellent critical thinking skills to help solve business problems and make decisions.
Tendency to pay close attention to small details that could impact results.
General knowledge of business operations, objectives, strategies, process, and information flow.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, finance, economics or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Minimum of 3 years of experience with data analysis and report writing.
SSRS and Crystal Reports Experience highly preferred.

The Building Center, Inc., founded in the Charlotte metro market in 1977, has grown into one of the largest non-publicly traded lumber and building products dealers in the US.

Accordingly, The Building Center maintains a fleet of over 300 trucks to service the Carolinas, with locations in Georgetown SC, Columbia SC, Holly Hill SC, Easley SC, Rock Hill SC, Pineville NC, Gastonia NC, Boone NC, Greensboro NC, Mebane NC, Monroe NC, and Ocean Isle Beach NC.

The Building Center leverages its sizable regional presence to purchase and sell branded and commodity products at competitive market prices.

Inventories are maintained and managed to meet the needs of individual markets, regional building practices, and metro architectural trends.

This level of ready product availability and service includes truss plants in north and central North Carolina and millwork/door shops in both the Triad and Charlotte metro locations.

Additionally, custom millwork and prefab components are built-in Pineville, which also sources and fabricates exotic wood products like reclaimed lumber flooring, siding, cabinetry, and mantles.
