    Defense Congressional Analyst, Junior

    Key Role:

    Provide Navy client with legislative and Congressional support throughout the annual Defense Authorization and Appropriations process. Leverage existing Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) systems and databases to coordinate, track, report, and make appropriate analyses and recommendations to support government decisions on requirements, milestones, and progress. Provide analysis to support the development and implementation of Navy and Marine Corps strategy and policy. Analyze risk-based strategies for legislative processes and planning. Analyze and track metrics for strategy implementation. Perform analysis to identify, define, and close requirements using the legislative process.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • 1+ years of experience in a professional work environment
    • Experience with Congressional or legislative affairs
    • Experience with administrative duties, including support for meeting logistics, maintaining contact databases and distribution lists, writing and editing senior-level correspondence, event planning, calendar maintenance, and supporting travel according to DoD and DON regulations
    • Experience with regular direct client interactions, including supporting project delivery, delivering presentations, and leading client meetings
    • Experience with using Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
    • Secret clearance
    • Bachelor's degree

    Additional Qualifications

    • Experience working on Capitol Hill as a Congressional Staffer or DoD or Navy Office of Legislative Affairs
    • Experience with Congressional Authorization and Appropriations process, the DoD legislative process, including program objective memorandum (POM) preparation, Budget Estimate Submissions (BES), and President's Budget(PB) Exhibit preparation
    • Experience with the Program Budget Information System (PBIS)
    • Experience with Navy ERP
    • Experience with reviewing and drafting 'Reclamas' to Congressional Defense Committees as part of annual Authorization and Appropriations process
    • Experience with Navy staff or Defense, Joint Staff, or Combatant Command (COCOM) staff
    • Knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools
    • Possession of excellent creative, analytical, and problem-solving skills

    Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $47,000.00 to $96, annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
