    My client has recently opened up the opportunity for someone to join their team as a Project Manager SME in Washington DC.

    This is an onsite and in office role.
    The Company

    Since being founded in 2014 by a group of professionals who previously led the leading division within one of the United States' top Electrical Contractors, my clients company has seen substantial growth.

    Specializing in Low Voltage with a specific focus on Telecommunications, they have grown from 12 to 270 in headcount.

    To support their growth and staff tenure, training programs such as MBA's for executives are provided for staff to increase their ability and presence in the industry.

    Their current project focus is within the Transportation industry, which encompasses Telecommunications, Electronic Security and A/V systems.
    The Role
    As a Project Manager and SME, you can expect responsibilities in the following areas:

    Telecommunications Project Manager:

    Planning:
    Develop project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.

    Budgeting:
    Manage project budgets and ensure that spending stays within allocated funds.

    Stakeholder management:

    Communicate with stakeholders, including clients, team members, and management, to ensure that everyone is aligned with project goals and progress.


    Risk management:
    Identify potential risks to the project and develop strategies to mitigate them.

    Team management:
    Lead and motivate project teams, including telecommunications engineers, technicians, and other professionals.

    Quality assurance:
    Ensure that telecommunications systems meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

    Reporting:
    Provide regular updates on project progress to stakeholders and management.

    Problem-solving: Address issues and challenges that arise during the course of the project, finding solutions to keep the project on track.


    Telecommunications Subject Matter Expert (SME):

    Technical expertise:
    Provide expert knowledge and guidance on telecommunications technologies, protocols, and standards.

    Solution design:

    Assist in the design and implementation of telecommunications systems, ensuring that they meet the organization's requirements and industry best practices.


    Troubleshooting:
    Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to telecommunications systems and infrastructure.

    Research and development:

    Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in the telecommunications industry, and assess their potential impact on the organization's projects and objectives.


    Training and mentoring:
    Provide training and guidance to other team members on telecommunications concepts, tools, and techniques.

    Documentation:
    Create and maintain documentation related to telecommunications systems, including technical specifications, diagrams, and user guides.

    Collaboration:

    Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that telecommunications solutions align with project goals and requirements.


    Compliance:
    Ensure that telecommunications systems adhere to relevant regulations, standards, and security protocols.
    The Ideal Candidate Will Come With
    15+ Years of industry experience.
    5+ Years of project management experience.
    Low voltage industry knowledge in Telecommunications, Electronic Security & Audio Visual.
    Project management experience in construction, transportation and OSP.
    An RCDD and/or BICSI certification.
    Obtained PMP certification.
    An engineering or field background, proving technical knowledge of the low voltage industry.

    There is also an opportunity for the hired individual to run their own Communications Engineering department which is planned to open in the next 3 to 4 years.

    Previous Project Manager's have established themselves as Senior Vice Presidents which highlights the individual success supported by the company.
    Compensation Package
    A base salary between $120K and $140K (skillset and value dependent).
    Yearly bonuses averaging at 7.5% of annual salary.
    Company profits bonuses.
    Full benefits package including a 401K.
