- Provide prompt and courteous technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person.
- Assist users with software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Diagnose and resolve software and application issues on desktops, laptops, and servers
- Log, track, and prioritize support requests using a ticketing system.
- Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff, appropriate teams, or vendors as needed.
- Ensure timely resolution of open tickets and provide regular updates to end-users.
- Install, upgrade, and configure software applications and operating systems.
- Collaborate with 3rd part vendors.
- Monitor and maintain the performance of critical applications and systems, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal functionality.
- Provide training and guidance to users on software functionality and usage.
- Participate in the testing and validation of new software releases, patches, or updates to ensure compatibility, stability, and reliability.
- Create and update knowledge base articles, FAQs, the Service Desk system, and user guides.
- Assist with/and maintain accurate records of hardware and software inventory.
- Assist in enforcing IT security policies and protocols.
- Ensure software and applications are in compliance with industry standards.

Job DescriptionSteelite International is seeking an Application Support Specialist to join our IT team at Steelite International in Youngstown, Ohio. The Application Support Specialist will be responsible for providing first-level technical support and assistance to end-users within the organization for all software and application related issues. The ideal candidate should have experience with IT frameworks, good problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn and grow within the role. This is an entry-level position with opportunities for growth and career development within the IT department. After-hours or weekend work may be required for special projects, system maintenance, or issues impacting business operations.

Essential Job Functions
What are the qualifications and skills?
The ideal candidate must have:
· Strong familiarity with Windows environments (10/11, Server, etc).
o Basic knowledge of iOS and MacOS operating systems is preferred but not required.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other common business applications.
· Experience writing SQL queries.
· General understanding of relational databases, application and system architecture, and how those components integrate with each other.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
· Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
· Willingness to work collaboratively within a team and learn from experienced IT professionals.
· 2 – 3 years of application support experience
· Strong understanding of software and application fundamentals.
· Proven experience in providing technical support for software applications and systems in a corporate environment.
· Strong self-management and motivation with the ability to work effectively with high-level direction.
· Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
