    Description

    Leads and supports advanced accounting functions for Prestonwood Baptist Church (PBC) and its entities.

    Responsibilities:
    • Actively participates in the monthly closing process and assists with preparing entity financials and is integral in all entities' financial preparation
    • Works with ministry staff on budgeting for church and entity events
    • Performs financial analysis for assigned entities and projects, to assist with Financial Management
    • Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations and analyses as assigned
    • Actively participates in special projects, related to church administration, as assigned
    • Proactively solicits input and feedback for service expectations with supported entities
    • Communicates relevant information, whether financial or operational, and interacts with all appropriate levels of management or ministries
    • Adds value to Administration by providing financial expertise and support to meet the growing demands of the organization
    • Able to identify existing and potential issues within assigned responsibilities, and to recommend appropriate solutions with minimal supervision
    • Operates under universal organizational competency requirements, such as, integrity, servanthood, quality, innovation, and stewardship
    • Works with ministry staff to ensure competency on policies, procedures and financial software
    • May supervise some finance team staff members
    • Other duties as assigned
    Qualifications

    Requirements
    • Growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as an active member of a local, Bible believing and preaching church
    • College degree required, preferably in accounting, finance, or related field
    • 5+ years of experience in an accounting or finance position; audit experience a plus; CPA candidate or license preferred
    • Excellent planning and organizational skills to manage multiple projects
    • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
    • Ability to work independently and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
    • Able to perform physical activities that require moving one's whole body, such as walking, stooping, lifting
    • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office, emphasis in Microsoft Excel
    • Data analysis skills a plus
    • Consistently meets or exceeds required deadlines, within sphere of control or influence
