    Description


    As a Senior Accountant, you will play an important role in managing accounting tasks and providing key insights into the financial health of the company.

    Reporting to the Controller, your responsibilities will include various accounting functions. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring accuracy, efficiency and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.


    Duties and Responsibilities


    Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
    • Generate timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
    • Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas of improvement.

    General Ledger Management:

    • Assist with oversight of the general ledger and ensure accuracy of accounting entries.
    • Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, including roll forwards and reconciliations, accruals, and corporate allocations.
    • Coordinate with operations team for timely and accurate month-end physical inventory counts/valuation to ensure proper capture of COGS.
    • P&L review to ensure consistent and accurate coding of expenses.
    • Assist in maintaining chart of accounts and implementing necessary adjustments.

    Compliance and Audit:

    • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations and internal policies.
    • Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
    • Provide necessary support for external auditors.

    Process Improvement:

    • Continuously assess accounting processes and identify opportunities for optimization.
    • Implement improvements to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.
    • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging accounting trends.
    • Ad hoc reporting and projects.
    Requirements


    Required experience and qualifications


    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
    • Minimum 7 years proven experience in accounting roles with progressively increasing responsibilities.
    • Prior experience supporting a multi-site, multi-state organization specifically; appropriately allocating expenses/revenues.
    • Thorough understanding of accounting principles, standards and regulations.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (Sage Intacct preferred) and MS Excel.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
    • Diligent work ethic that is comfortable in a fast-paced and fluid environment.
