    Description


    LHH is working with a great construction firm that is in search of a new Assistant Controller that will oversee various accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Billing, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, Payroll, and Accounting Operations.

    Reporting directly to the Controller, this position involves managing accounting staff, including departmental managers, and requires regular interaction with senior leaders and the CFO, demanding strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.


    Job Responsibilities:
    Manage month-end closing activities, encompassing revenue generation, expense analysis, and reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
    Demonstrate mastery of operational data to ensure data integrity and accuracy of outflows.
    Develop and oversee operational procedures and documentation.
    Supervise the general accounting function, including inter-company accounting, cash management, and reconciliations.
    Ensure the implementation of policies and procedures that provide reasonable assurance of protecting company assets.
    Offer technical accounting GAAP guidance and support to all company entities.
    Apply revenue recognition guidelines for project revenue.

    Maintain company financial records in compliance with company policies and US GAAP.Supervise the completion of Federal and State tax reporting requirements and payments, as well as insurance reports and other government-regulated reports.

    Coordinate work related to external audits for the periodic review of the company's financial records.
    Calculate foreign currency exchange and accurately record the calculation in the financial statements.
    Review monthly accounts prepared by local accountants for foreign subsidiaries, consolidation, allocations, intercompany reconciliations, and eliminations.
    Oversee payroll processing and participate in ESOP analysis.

    Ensure the accounting department is staffed with qualified financial personnel and is responsible for the continued development of these employees.


    Job Qualifications:
    Accounting DegreeCPA certification preferredPreferred Public Accounting experience10 years of accounting experience in a multi-state environment, with international experience as a plus5 years of management experience requiredDemonstrated ability to form, lead, and develop high-performing teamsAbility to work collaboratively across departmental functionsExperience with monthly closings and operational accountingStrong knowledge of compliance issues related to assurance, tax, and internal controlsDirect experience with general ledger accountingStrong communication and interpersonal skillsIf you would like to apply for this role, or any other role LHH is recruiting on, please email your resume to:
