    Description

    Overview:

    Corgan is seeking an experienced accounting professional to oversee accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Billing, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, Payroll, and Accounting Operations. The Assistant Controller reports directly to the Controller and manages accounting staff including departmental managers. This individual will interact with senior leaders and the CFO which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.

    Key attributes of an ideal candidate include: a proactive, solutions-oriented nature; impeccable time management skills and is a team player.

    Responsibilities:

    Manage month end closing including revenue generation, expense analysis and reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting

    Mastery of operational data to ensure data integrity and accuracy of outflows

    Development and oversight of operational procedures and documentation

    Oversee the general accounting function, which includes inter-company accounting, cash management, reconciliations.

    Accountable for ensuring that policies and procedures are in place to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected.

    Provides technical accounting GAAP guidance and support to all company entities.

    Responsible for application of revenue recognition guidelines for project revenue

    Ensures that company financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and US GAAP

    Supervises the completion of Federal and State tax reporting requirements and payments. insurance reports and other reports required by government regulation. Also, assists Corporate Tax and Treasury departments with dealing with tax related issues and meeting reporting requirements. Coordinates work relating to both external audits in the periodic review of the company financial records.

    Calculate foreign currency exchange and ensure this calculation is accurately recorded in the financial statements.

    Review monthly accounts prepared by local accountants for foreign subsidiaries, consolidation, allocations, intercompany reconciliations and eliminations.

    Oversee payroll processing and participate in ESOP analysis.

    Ensures that the accounting department is staffed with qualified financial personnel and responsible for the continued development of these employees.

    Qualifications:

    Accounting Degree

    CPA certification preferred

    Public Accounting experience preferred

    10 years of accounting experience in multi-state environment, international experience a plus

    5 years management experience required

    Demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop high-performing teams

    Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions

    Experience with monthly closings and operational accounting

    Strong knowledge of compliance issues related to assurance, tax, and internal controls

    Direct experience with general ledger accounting

    Strong communication, interpersonal skills
