Description
Payroll Tax Compliance Specialist - Houston, TX 77040We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Tax Compliance Specialist to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in payroll tax compliance, with a focus on federal and state tax filings.
Alternatively, candidates with payroll tax advisory and compliance experience in a medium-sized tax consulting firm are also encouraged to apply.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure accurate and timely preparation, submission, and filing of all payroll tax-related documents, including federal and state filings.
Stay up to date with changes in tax regulations and legislation to ensure ongoing compliance.
Conduct regular audits to identify and rectify any payroll tax discrepancies or errors.
Collaborate with internal teams, such as HR and Accounting, to gather necessary information for tax reporting purposes.
Respond to inquiries and notices from tax authorities and address any compliance issues promptly.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
3-5 years of experience in payroll tax compliance.
Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and guidelines.
Experience with payroll tax software and other relevant tools.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
