    Description

    BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

    We are looking for a skilled individual to join our team in the West Region territories of San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Sacramento, Seattle, or Phoenix. This role involves travel approximately 60-70% of the time.

    Job Summary:

    The Business Development Representative will be responsible for promoting and advising on products for both current and potential clients within technical and scientific wholesale and manufacturing industries. Reporting directly to the National Sales Director.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Developing and nurturing relationships with potential and existing clients in the technical and scientific wholesale and manufacturing sectors.
    • Identifying and reaching out to new clients through various methods such as networking and cold calling.
    • Extensive traveling required with short notice, approximately 75% of the time. A valid driver's license is a must.
    • Creating and executing sales strategies within a designated region or industry.
    • Utilizing product knowledge to match customer needs with the appropriate products.
    • Addressing client queries regarding products, their applications, and the industry.
    • Providing product information, quotes, credit terms, and bid specifications to clients.
    • Negotiating prices, sales terms, and service agreements, as well as preparing contracts and processing orders.
    • Coordinating with purchasing departments and other teams to ensure accurate order processing and product distribution.
    • Regularly updating managers on account status, results, and potential leads.
    • Meeting sales targets set by management.
    • Performing any other assigned duties.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Extensive travel required, around 60-70% of the time, with short notice.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Good sales and negotiation abilities.
    • Comprehensive understanding of technical or scientific products being sold.
    • Highly organized with keen attention to detail.
    • Proven capability in establishing and maintaining client relationships.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar tools.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Biology, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Bonus:

      • Compensation plan

      Salary:

      $85k-$95K DOE
