    SUMMARY

    Remote-based position selling Sharp Commercial Packaging services to the pharmaceutical market, including but not limited to biotech, consumer and medical device.

    Territory includes various regions within the United States - ability to travel throughout domestic US as needed. Specific clients will be determined by the Director of Business Development.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from business directories, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources. The use of will be required to keep updated information.

    Gains knowledge of packaging designs and materials, and IT requirements for serialization. Must demonstrate the ability to sell this service and speak to pricing alignment.

    Calls on customers to inform and drive new business gains around new packaging technologies and explains characteristics and possible uses for such packaging.

    Gains knowledge of dosage, uses, and effect of new drugs and medicinal preparations that customer produces.

    Works with Sharp Design department and Engineering to provide samples of packaging to customers.

    Promotes and sells other services provided by companies and affiliates. Works with Sharp clinical to support new business as well.

    Sells and takes orders for packaging requests from persons contacted.

    Works with Account Managers/Planners, Project Managers, and Client Service Coordinators to keep account activities and literature up to date.

    May enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into a computer database or assist Account Managers/ Planners and Project Managers with this activity. Requirement to enter client forecasts and ensure updates are done weekly, monthly from all clients and work with Customer Service to ensure all data is correct.

    Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing, engineering, marketing and IT.

    Works with Customer Service and QA to investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries.

    Attends trade shows as required.

    Will support and work with European sites and contacts to support global business platform.

    Will work with Client Service Manager to support client requirements and pricing.

    Negotiate & manage client contract obligations with management support as needed.

    Role will require interaction and alignment with Sharp Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance to support customer needs.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
    • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; Bachelor of Science degree preferred
    • A minimum of 3 years either in direct Sales or Technical Operations in a relevant pharmaceutical position is required
    • Knowledge/experience working with pharmaceutical packaging components such as vials/syringes/devices is required
    • Broad knowledge of the Biologics industry with a focus on market trends, equipment manufacturers and competitors
    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Fluency in spoken and written English is required. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    COMPUTER SKILLS:

    Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
