    Job Summary

    The successful candidate we are looking for will be highly motivated to oversee all aspects of the daily operations of the Background Check Team, including but not limited to: staffing, performance management, quality assurance oversight, training, auditing and compliance with internal and external requirements. Must have experience working with sensitive data. Developing and executing tactics for a rapid onboarding process and fostering relationships with the Talent Acquisition team to drive efficiencies and analytics to meet hiring goals and across Maximus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail and goal oriented, ability to multi-task and manage assignments independently and/or able to work well as a team. The position will be remote with periodic travel.

    Education and Experience Requirements

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Manages assigned staff, oversees the background check related administrative tasks, develops, and coaches staff to assure productivity, quality, attendance, and timeliness of work in the completion of assigned records in order to meet teams SLAs.
    • Manager will be responsible for adjusting the teams work schedules based on business needs and ensures the staff is working the appropriate hours.
    • Assigns and distributes work and re-distributes when team members are out of the office and fills in as needed.
    • Establish processes for issue identification, and create actions plans to resolve and address issues.
    • Establish and measure Staffing metrics, analyze and make recommendations for process improvement. Proactively identify opportunities. Provide solutions to organizational challenges, and work with the appropriate teams to implement improvements.
    • Manage vendor relationships with background check vendor and Talent Acquisition partners and make recommendations on improvements. Request new package set up based on contract requirements.
    • Maintain a quality rating of 98% or above on background check administrative transactions, manage staffing metrics such as time to hire and complete background adjudications in order to meet hiring goals and maintain compliance.
    • Conduct organizational analysis and build business partnerships while managing team and contributing to the development and execution of MAXIMUS talent management objectives. Collaborate with HR team and Talent Acquisition on business initiatives and objectives.
    • Support new project startups as needed.
    • Conduct training sessions with staffing team members and talent acquisition partners as needed.
    • Maintain schedule flexibility due to business needs; anticipate schedule changes at any time. Evening and weekend hours are required during peak periods.
    • Perform other duties as assigned and participates in special projects as required.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
    • 5-7 years related professional experience required.
    • 3 years of previous experience supervising/managing staff required.
    • Ability to interact with all levels of management.
    • Ability to speak and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
    • Uses good judgment, ability to make independent decisions and proactively problem solve, as required.
    • Must be organized and have strong time management skills.
    • Must have advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office) with an emphasis on Excel.
    • Preferred advanced experience in iCIMS and Workday or any other HRM or Talent Acquisition software.
    • Ability to make effective presentations to small and large groups of employees, management of the business organization supported, and management of higher organizational levels in their business unit.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of general human resources practices and procedures.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of the relevant laws and regulations pertaining to the human resources function.
