About Us

The Inn at Grace Winery is a tranquil haven situated on thirty-five acres in the historic Brandywine Valley. Our original Quaker farmhouse dates to 1734 and the Hemphill family added a magnificent Georgian addition in 1815. The Inn housed the British after the battle of the Brandywine in 1777, was a safe house for the underground railroad and the farmhouse's third floor was a civil war infirmary. The estate vineyard is just off to the west of Manor House. The side porch is the perfect location to watch the sun sink behind the vineyard while enjoying your favorite Grace Winery vintage.

The Inn at Grace Winery is a unique venue hosting a large array of gatherings, including private events and dinners, corporate retreats, weddings, supper series, workshops, bridal showers, large group tastings, and more. We are looking to hire an Events Manager to our growing team who will oversee all aspects of the planning, detailing, and execution process for all weddings and social events. Bonus points if you have a passion for great wine

Responsibilities

Oversee a large array of gatherings, including weddings, private events and dinners, corporate retreats, supper series, workshops, bridal showers, group tastings, and more
Serve as onsite point of contact for all social events, personally greeting, overseeing program transitions and departures, ensuring guest satisfaction throughout, and coordinating with other team members to ensure seamless and memorable event execution
Work closely with internal team members (FOH, BOH), third party planners, and approved vendors to execute events that meet/exceed guest expectations while promoting the capabilities of The Inn at Grace Winery
Manage all elements of the event planning (preparation and clean up), billing, and post-event follow-up process
Provide exceptional customer service in all areas of The Inn at Grace Winery: welcome guests, present the portfolio of wines, host private tours, and conduct onsite and virtual educational wine experiences for small to large-sized groups
Resolve guest challenges as appropriate using discretion and good judgment while promoting positive guest relations
Manage and update events inventory such as linens, glassware, chairs, tables, etc.
Provide program details and floorplans for each event and review details with GM, AGM, Housekeeping, and F&B teams at weekly meetings and event pre-cons
Maintain master schedule of all events and programs, and be knowledgeable of all event space layouts, room capacity, hours of operation, pricing, and other event details
Ability to promote and represent the property and wines of The Inn at Grace Winery and attend local events/conventions, as needed
Assist with ad-hoc duties as needed to ensure coverage during peak and non-peak periods

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospitality and/or event management is preferred
4-year college degree in hospitality or related fields preferred
Must work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on client programs
Ability to professionally represent The Inn at Grace Winery, and interact with clients in a polished, responsible, and timely manner
Thorough understanding of sales and event contract language preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate information to other departments accurately and promptly
Proficient in MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and social media
Passion for Wine and fine dining preferred
Exceptional follow-through, attention to detail, and sense of urgency
Strong client/guest service skills
A strong team player with the ability to multi-task
Some local travel may be required in support of sales effort and to represent The Winery
Lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs. frequently and 25 lbs. occasionally
