SUMMARY: The Events Manager will develop, manage and execute client facing marketing and business development programs and events in support of practice and industry initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:
  • Working with a diverse team of Marketing & Business Development Managers, attorney leaders and a robust Marketing & Business Development Team, this lead role is responsible for managing all elements of events, conferences and seminars from creating and helping to create budgets, identifying and securing venues, negotiating contracts with vendors, and planning and executing events. This position will also entail management and operation of some virtual events (i.e., webinars.)
  • Oversees, attends, and executes the event dayof, managing onsite assistance staffing, and engaging with clients and potential clients. Such events take place throughout Duane Morris' domestic office platform.
  • Activities and events created and managed by this position are highly visible and viewed as critical to local and firmwide success, branding, visibility and revenue enhancement
  • Coordination with firmwide marketing strategy is essential to ensure continuity and impact. This position is expected to interface daily with attorneys and other professionals throughout the firm

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 58+ years of event planning and management experience required. CMP, CMM, or CSEP a plus.
  • Strong relationshipdevelopment, communication and proactive client service skills and attitude are essential
  • Must be able to develop and manage strong working relationships with vendors, MBD team members, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated event planning/management experience along with strong project management, organization and prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple competing deadlines and levels of urgency
  • Must have budget/finance skills and experience with Excel
  • Solid negotiating skills necessary to achieve goals while staying within budget
  • Must be outgoing, comfortable demonstrating initiative, and able to think critically and creatively; a sense of humor would be nice
  • High sense of responsibility, accountability, and focus on responsiveness
  • 58+ years' of event management experience required. Large law firm or other professional services firm experience desired.
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Travel required
