Following a 2-½ year hiatus, due to the elimination of my corporate position as a result of Covid, I've grasped the opportunity to get back in the game. I've accepted a position as Business Development Manager for CorPro Signs, a local full-service sign shop. It feels great to be back in the marketplace, making new contacts and entering into partnerships that will expand our business. Contrary to popular belief, cold-calling remains viable. I've been welcomed into numerous businesses, both large and small, and provided the opportunity to show the benefits of working closely with my company.

Parental Caregiver Parent's Residence I resigned from a 20-year career in management and returned to my hometown to become a caregiver for my father. My mother was already living in the dementia unit of a local nursing home. After he began to display the onset of dementia, followed by the loss of sight in one eye, I couldn't leave the 86-year-old WWII veteran on his own. In November of 2015, he agreed to move into the same nursing home with my mother, although she no longer recognizes him..
Associate District Manager Aramark Uniform Services -- Arlington Heights, Illinois Assisted the management team in meeting or exceeding company-established metrics, such as business retention. As a result, a high-profile, at-risk customer chose to not only retain their current level of service, but to award Aramark with an additional $40,000 a week in business by serving additional locations.
Fleet Manager Aramark Uniform Services -- Arlington Heights, Illinois Managed a fleet of 30 step vans, one bulk truck, and eight company cars, while assuring that 40 drivers obtained and maintained the mandated licensing and medical certifications. Rallied high-level corporate support to significantly reduce downtimes by requiring contracted repair facilities to increase service at no additional cost throughout the Chicago area.
District Manager Aramark Uniform Services -- Arlington Heights, Illinois Directed the efforts of six Route Sales Representatives and one District Manager Trainee toward meeting or exceeding company-established metrics within a specific geographical area, such as sales and business retention. Molded a recently re-organized district into a cohesive unit while re-establishing strained customer relationships. Regained the trust of a high-profile, at-risk customer by resolving on-going issues and proving that Aramark could sustain a high level of service.
District Manager Trainee Aramark Uniform Services -- Rockford, Illinois Assisted the District Manager in driving new and existing sales within a specific geographical area while managing and coaching a team of eight Route Sales Representatives. Developed route-assistance schedules to increase time devoted to advanced sales training and follow-up sales calls. Recorded and tracked sales activity for weekly reports and to maintain a focus on sales.
Route Manager Aramark Uniform Services -- Tampa, Florida Monitored customer feedback, resolved customer issues and assisted in the installation of new accounts. Completed a corporate seminar on Targeted Selection, which outlined the company's best practices for selecting, interviewing and hiring of new Route Sales Representatives.
Route Sales Representative Aramark Uniform Services -- Rockford, Illinois Managed an $11,000.00-a-week bulk route while increasing growth through new and existing sales. Earned the Service All Star Award for two consecutive years. The award represents being in the Top 10 percent of Route Sales Representatives nationwide.
City Editor Freeport Journal-Standard -- Freeport, Illinois Directed, assigned, and edited the copy of six full-time reporters and a few part-time correspondents while writing columns and editorials. Assisted in the operation of a four-person copy desk in addition to assuming the responsibilities of the Managing Editor in his absence.
Regional Editor Freeport Journal-Standard -- Freeport, Illinois Directed, assigned, coordinated, and edited the copy of three regional reporters. Wrote columns and editorials while assisting in the operation of a four person copy desk.
Regional Reporter Freeport Journal-Standard -- Freeport, Illinois Covered the northwest section of the circulation area, which represented the largest portion of readership outside of the city. Reported various city and county governments and wrote weekly special interest stories
On Site Coordinator Aramark Uniform Services Embedded in Mondelez International's Loves Park, Illinois, facility to oversee a recently contracted uniform-rental program serving 600 permanent and 100 temporary employees.
The facility manufactures Trident, Dentyne and Bubblicous chewing gums.
Coordinated the development and installation of the program while seamlessly transitioning from the previous supplier.
By working closely with the embedded representative of a local staffing organization, who supplies the temporary employees, the program is estimated to save Mondelez $150,000 in the first year.
All garments are electronically tracked and inventoried, vastly reducing the amount of previously unsubstantiated loss of garments due to quits and terminations, thus reducing costs for Mondelez and Aramark.
