    Social Media Coordinator

    General Job Description:


    Weigel's Digital Team is seeking a Chicago-based Social Media Coordinator to create and manage the production of social media content for a classic TV network.

    The ideal candidate will have experience creating and editing photos, video and written material; crafting catchy content; and engaging with a community of fans with short, engaging, and digestible posts.

    Additionally, the candidate will have a familiarity with and fondness for classic television and animation, as well as pop culture nostalgia.


    Duties/Responsibilities:
    Build a community of loyal fans across social media platforms.
    Seek out and engage fans in groups.
    Schedule posts and create original content for Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok and other apps.
    Prepare media assets and curate user-generated content.
    Collaborate with talent, writers, producers and marketing to craft content.
    Serve as an ambassador of our brands to engage talent, fan groups and organizations.
    Partner with the social media teams of media companies for cross-promotional campaigns.
    Observe trademark and copyright compliance.
    Other duties, as assigned.

    Requirements:
    Must submit a portfolio or writing samples.
    3 or more years of experience coordinating social media accounts.
    Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or equivalent experience.
    Understanding of AP Style.
    Willing to work occasional nights and weekends as required.
    A demonstrated passion for and knowledge of classic television, animation and social media platforms.
    Successful copyediting and writing experience in digital publishing.
    Knowledge of all social media platforms and experience managing messaging across social platforms.
    Familiarity with social media analytics.
