    Functional Job Title: P/T Dental Assistant Career Coach

    Category: Continuing Education Teacher (CET)

    Location: Lehman College- School for Continuing and Professional Studies

    The fast-growing School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) at Lehman College is seeking an experienced Career Coach to join the team part-time. SCPS is dedicated to preparing Pre-Dental Students at Lehman College to enter the workforce non-credit Dental Assistant training program and Externship. SCPS partners with local dental employers, and arrange clinical internships and customized training. The Career Coach Manager will work with a small caseload of 10 busy scholarship students to prepare for their clinical rotations and career readiness skills.

    The successful candidate will be a dynamic educational case manager with a passion for working with college students and possess superior administrative skills. Reporting to the Director of Continuing Education, the healthcare program coordinator is responsible for.

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure that reporting of essential program outcomes is accurate, timely, and actionable (attendance, certifications, employment, etc.). Proactively communicate concerns with students, faculty, and staff through resolution.
    • Manage all aspects of healthcare program scheduling, which includes rooming, coordination with clinical sites, and coordination of supplies.
    • Create administrative systems to meet programs' needs, such as tracking student externship documentation.
    • Facilitate the student registration process
    • Help students overcome barriers to completion and employment
    • Act as a liaison between the Continuing Education Program, Biology Department, Pre-Health Department, and financial aid to coordinate the program.
    • Collaborate with the Program's Faculty-student medical clearances and clinical sites.
    • Responsible for student career readiness and training including resumes.
    • Attends program update meetings with stakeholders.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director.

    Part-Time Hybrid Schedule: Support evening and weekend meetings with students (in person as needed). In-Person June 11-13 from 6-9 pm at CUNY on the Concourse.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • At least two (2) years work experience in a related field, one (1) year of which involved the supervision of others.
    • Advanced computer skills in MS Office 365 including MS Teams & Excel. Zoom and Dropbox are required.

    Preferred:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proven administrative abilities that include:
    • Organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to work on a team, as well as independently in a fast-paced, demanding, and complex work environment with minimal supervision.
    • Critical thinking that includes rapidly adapting to changing situations and priorities
    • Delivering superior customer service and professional communication
    • Willingness to take advantage of professional development and growth opportunities
    • Experience in higher education administration or professional learning and development environment.
    • Previous experience, training, or knowledge about workforce development and project management.

    Compensation: Appointment as P/T Continuing Education Teacher $50 per hour @ 45 hours.
