Our Sacramento based client is seeking a highly skilled a Senior Data Management Consulting Lead with Public Sector experience to join their consulting leadership team working on-site with the team or clients 3 days/wk.

in Sacramento, CA.

In this director-level role, you will be hands-on, leading their data management practice, overseeing projects and teams of data professionals, and serving as the primary client-facing expert for all data management projects.

The position is a permanent position and must be on a W2.
This senior-level position requires working onsite with clients.

The ideal candidate will be located within 1.5 hours of Sacramento, CA and be committed to working onsite at least 3 days per week with executive level clients.

This role is responsible for providing consulting to clients on strategic direction and governance for data management using industry best practices.

Strong communications skills are required for this role.

You will lead and mentor a team of data analysts, data architects, BI analysts, and other data professionals in delivering projects while ensuring high quality work deliverables and client satisfaction.

You will also support client discussions and solution development by serving as the subject matter expert for all data management projects.

You will help identify clear client business value and drive projects through all phases of work.

You will work closely with clients to identify and propose opportunities for process improvements, automation, and adoption of new data management tools and technologies.

You will provide analysis to determine current vs. future costs for data management solutions.
You will contribute to business development efforts by identifying new client opportunities and participating in proposal development and presentations.

You must be able to demonstrate thought leadership in data management and have experience integrating teams to produce tangible value for clients.

Requirements:
(12) years of hands-on experience aligning data management systems and practices with organizational processes and needs. Experience with Public Sector clients highly preferred. At least five (5) years of experience must be in a consulting and/or senior leadership capacity.
(10) Extensive hands-on experience with multiple data management tools and platforms (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Ab Initio, Oracle, SQL Server) Oracle Data Warehousing experience is highly desired.
(8) years of expert-level experience leading the assessment, design, implementation, and support of enterprise data management solutions using industry best practices and supporting technologies (e.g., data warehousing, data governance, data quality, metadata management).
(8) years of expert-level experience leading data management practice assessments and documenting current state vs. future state data architectures, data models, data policies, roles, and responsibilities. Prefer experience in multiple business domains.
(5) years of expert-level experience leading data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning for data management systems, documenting processes, and testing with key technology groups to ensure adequate recovery capabilities for public sector agency initiatives.
(5) years of expert-level experience providing executive presentations, reports, diagrams, and analysis on data management for public sector audiences.
Experience leading implementation of data backup and disaster recovery solutions using cloud platforms (e.g. AWS) and enterprise backup/recovery technologies.

Preferred:
Relevant industry certifications in data management, cloud platforms, information governance, etc.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
Multiple years/projects in multiple domains (transportation, healthcare, etc.) developing and implementing solutions to solve complex data problems.
Previous consulting experience, with a deep understanding of client engagement and project delivery methodologies. Public Sector experience desired.
Experience in building delivery teams to meet client needs.
