    Default job background
    Description

Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity in data science and web analytics? As a Web Analytics Data Scientist, you'll build machine learning models, analyze data for valuable insights, and support agency clients on their data collection and management strategies.

We are looking for an intellectually curious, self-motivated individual who enjoys working with people as much as solving complex technical problems. If this describes you, we would love to hear from you

How will you make a difference?

As a Web Analytics Data Scientist, you will play a key role in our agency's Advanced Analytics & Reporting service. You'll work closely with clients to understand their data analysis needs and create data pipelines to clean and organize data sets. Your expertise in applying machine learning models and developing impactful reporting visualizations will help uncover valuable insights for our clients.

You'll also implement custom web analytics solutions that support our agency's online advertising services. By using tools like Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Google BigQuery, you'll address complex tracking and reporting challenges for clients and internal teams. In this role, you'll regularly test and deploy tracking scripts and leverage our in-house tools for efficient data analysis and reporting.

    What will you do?

    • Design and execute machine-learning solutions for client projects in the areas of marketing mix modeling, predictive analytics, unique audience creation, custom attribution modeling, and more.
    • Perform advanced data joining and query building using SQL in Google BigQuery to support client reporting needs and in-house data enhancement technologies.
    • Ideate and design strategically insightful reports within data visualization platforms such as Looker Studio and Tableau.
    • Develop expert-level knowledge of the tracking and reporting capabilities of data collection tools such as Google Analytics, digital advertising platforms, and other related technologies.
    • Communicate data problems and solutions to clients in terms that are easy to understand and relevant to their business needs.
    • Answer tracking-related tickets from clients and internal teams, ensuring timely responses and effectively managing multiple deadlines.
    • Design web analytics solutions by understanding a client's data collection goals, gathering requirements, defining project scope, and providing technical guidance.
    • Directly implement and test tracking solutions using Google Tag Manager, JavaScript, and browser development tools.
    • Work collaboratively within a small team environment to optimize idea and knowledge sharing.
    • Develop related training materials and process documentation.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Web Analytics Team Lead.
    Requirements:

Minimum qualifications are listed below; however, stronger skillsets and experience are welcome and rewarded at ROI
    • Bachelor's degree or related experience in a quantitative or technical field. (e.g., Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering, or related field)
    • 2+ years of experience with structured data and statistical programming languages. (ex. SQL, Python, R)
    • 1 year of experience with data pipeline management and ETL principles.
    • 1 year of experience with statistical and/or machine learning modeling algorithms and interpretation. (ex. linear regression, ridge regression, decision trees, Bayesian models, etc.)
    Essential Qualifications:
    • Experience with web development languages and debugging tools. (ex. JavaScript, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, JSON, Chrome DevTools)
    • Basic familiarity with business intelligence tools like Tableau or PowerBI.
    • Basic familiarity with the Google Cloud Platform, particularly BigQuery.
    • Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues at all levels.
    • A demonstrated capacity and willingness to learn.
    • Embodies ROI's core values and is willing to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
This description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work of the job, not an exhaustive list.
