    Description

    For the safety and well-being of our community and in accordance with the Department of Health, Ocean View requires that all employees be vaccinated against COVID-19 before they will be allowed to work onsite on our patient floor or administrative offices (documented proof of being fully vaccinated with 1 booster).

    Facility Overview

    At Ocean View Psychiatric Health Facility, we are passionate about serving as a community resource to provide the highest quality inpatient services.

    Ocean View is currently a 39-bed voluntary acute in-patient facility for patients 18 years and older, offering private rooms and individualized care using a multi-disciplinary approach focused on compassionate care and best practices.

    We successfully expanded our facility to include a PHP and IOP.

    Additionally, we are in the process of growing our Long Beach facility to 80 beds and will be developing to new locations in Southern California soon.

    Intake Coordinator Position Overview

    Pay:
    $ $25.00 / Hour
    Ocean View Intake Coordinators play a crucial role in recovery for each of their patients.

    Under the supervision of the Intake Manager, a full-time intake coordinator can communicate effectively and compassionately with individuals seeking psychiatric care while working cohesively alongside care team members in a remote setting.

    Intake coordinators will guide and support patients through the admission process by collecting relevant health information, conducting pre-admission assessments, and coordinating patient transportation to ensure a safe and timely transition into and from the hospital setting.

    Coordinators will answer incoming triage phone calls and complete phone assessments with potential patients.
    Collects and verifies patient insurance coverage.
    Collects medical and psychiatric documentation for clinical review.
    Communicates with clinical team regarding patient documentation and status of approval for admission.
    Communicates patient admission to necessary staff.
    Clearly document all received phone calls and relay messages to staff when necessary.
    Input patient information in EMR.
    Admit and discharge patients from EMR.
    Fax daily bed availabilities to local facilities.
    Communicate with outreach team regarding referrals, potential admission updates, bed availability, and patient status.
    Other Intake duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications
    High School Diploma
    2 years' experience working with inpatient mental health patients.
    2 years' experience working hospital intake.
    2 years' experience working with hospital EHR.
    Ability to speak, read, and write legibly in English.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Proficient in computer skills (Microsoft office)
    Bilingual English/Spanish.
