    Vantage is comprised of eight business units including GAL Manufacturing; GAL Canada; Hollister-Whitney; Elevator Controls; Courion; Bore-Max; Thames Valley Controls and Vertical Dimensions.

    Through its brands, Vantage supplies almost all electro-mechanical devices used in contemporary elevators.

    Founded in 1927, the Vantage group employs over 900 staff in multiple locations across the United States, Canada, and United Kingdom.

    The Quality Manager will be responsible for developing and planning Quality Control (QC) initiatives for manufacturing in all areas of the business.

    Duties will also include developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) along with the manufacturing team.

    He or she will also be instrumental in reducing costs through continuous process improvement (CPI) programs, optimizing quality management performance, analyzing manufacturing and quality system capabilities, driving continuous improvement projects, and creating quality control plans for new products.

    Additional responsibilities include providing direction for the Quality Administrator, Quality Assurance Engineer(s), and QC Technician/Inspector(s).

    RequirementsWe are searching for a candidate with:
    Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required. Experience in similar industries such as aerospace, automotive, and electronic/mechanical environments is acceptable.

    Minimum of 5 years of experience in managerial or leadership quality role requiredLean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Green or Black Belt experience/certificationsKnowledge regarding ISO 9001:2008 Standards, QMS, and Quality Control in Manufacturing environmentsWorking knowledge - including metal fabrication, machining, assembly, circuit board manufacturing, and supply chain management programs.

    Quality metrics, KPIs, and CPI program knowledge requiredAbility to facilitate customer interfacing and host registrar, regulatory and customer visit/audit plansMust have experience with mentoring and managing a quality departmental teamProject management skills a plus but not requiredFamiliarity with Microsoft Office tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.


    Duties and ResponsibilitiesA typical day may include:

    Planning and facilitating of manufacturing's Quality Planning needs - including QC strategy, new product RTM, quality policy & standard operating procedures (SOPs)Create, deploy, and maintain the quality management system (QMS)Facilitates monthly Management Review Meetings and reports/discusses Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and the status of and adherence to the QMSPlans, schedules, and conducts customer on-site audit events as required by the customerProvide specific oversite of the company's Return Material Authorization (RMA) processProvide oversite and facilitate design control and the engineering change (ECN) management processesSupport and maintain quality evaluations of the company's supply chain management (SCM) programOversees the plans for QMS Audits based on the company's departmental SOPs, work instructions, and formsEvaluates, create, and reports on Quality Metrics - such as rejects, customer returns, manufacturing yields, etc.
