The CFO/CAO

is a key member of the executive team and is a strategic partner and trusted business advisor to senior leadership, Board of Directors, and owners.

They will lead the financial activities and support functions of the McCrossan portfolio of companies – parent, subsidiaries, and affiliates to support their continued growth and success.

The CFO/CAO plans, implements, manages, and controls all financial, administrative, and risk management activities of the enterprise, and plays a key role in strategic planning, performance measurement, and operating improvements.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The key responsibilities of this role are expected to include the following:
Strategic/Operational Leadership

Provides strategic financial input and leadership on decisions affecting the organization including evaluation of potential alliances, joint ventures, mergers, investments, and major asset acquisitions/dispositions.

Acts as "go-to" person for financial advice related to strategic and tactical business activities.

Develops key operational and financial metrics, benchmarks, operating budgets; provides internal reports to assist leadership and Board in measuring and managing business performance.

Champions enterprise-wide initiatives and continuous process improvement.
Oversees critical financial modeling and valuation processes.
Assists Board with owner relations and reporting.

Manages external reporting, tax return preparation, external auditor/tax preparer relationships and non-union employee benefit plans, including 401(k) and health and welfare benefits.

Capital and Risk Management
Maintains relationships with banks, lenders, sureties, insurers, and attorneys.

Works with leadership to develop and monitor enterprise capital plans; procures and manages necessary leases or loan financing for capital expenditures and operational needs.

Acts as review resource for administrative contracts, coordinates lawsuit and legal matters with outside counsel.
Monitors enterprise performance and direction against industry trends to identify issues, risks, and opportunities. Also monitors and manages cash balances and forecasting.
Administers enterprise business insurance programs and policies.
Provides leadership in establishing, implementing and maintaining sound financial controls.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Finance or accounting degree plus fifteen (15) years financial and/or accounting experience
Change leadership experience in leading organizational change and building consensus across disciplines
Uncompromising ethics
Keen strategic vision and business acumen. Perceptive (quickly identifies issues and solutions, can "see around corners")
Personable and effective personnel management, mentoring, and development with respected leadership skills
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Construction industry experience
Experience with family-owned organizations
Previous experience overseeing IT, HR, and other non-accounting support functions.
Current or past tenure in CFO role with consolidated entities
CPA (can be inactive) or MBA
