Job Purpose
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Product Management Director to establish our product management function. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the product management profession, solving customer problems, and driving business growth. They have a proven track record of shaping product portfolios, developing and launching successful products, as well as strong leadership skills to coordinate across and inspire cross-functional teams. This is a global position responsible for supporting the entire MGS business. The role will sit on the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) reporting into the SVP/GM of the MGS business.
Job Responsibilities
Product Strategy
Drive Voice-of-Customer (VoC) collection and experimentation to develop proprietary market maps & market segmentation to guide how and where to invest in the market and within the product portfolio.
Perform competitive analysis to identify differentiated customer value propositions with product, service, and GTM levers.
Partner with Marketing to create meaningful sales collateral, including sales presentations, application notes, and case studies.
Identify opportunities for partnerships & potential acquisitions.
Product Lifecycle Management
Define and profitably execute product roadmap of your portfolio across the full life cycle, including new product development, new product launch, growth, maintenance, and end-of-life phases.
Guide the R&D team to design new solutions and features, while prioritizing to drive the most return on investment and ensure sustainment.
Provide post-launch and sustainment product performance analysis.
Own and lead New Product Development process from concept to launch.
Ensure projects are delivered adding value to the customer, the business, on time, within budget and quality standards.
Cross Functional Leadership: Engage with and integrate all stakeholders to align product strategies with overall company objectives. Work in partnership with Finance and Commerical leaders to deliver monthly revenue forecast. Collaborate with Marketing and Commerical teams on go to market strategy and execution.
Qualifications & Expectations
A bachelor's degree in engineering or the sciences is required.
7+ years of relevant product management experience and/or strategy consulting is required.
An additional degree in business administration is preferred.
Familiarity with new product development and associated processes a must.
Demonstrated success driven from strategic thinking and analysis of product value propositions vs customer needs.
Familiarity with the use of strategic marketing frameworks.
Experienced in VoC and other methods of gathering customer feedback in a global B2B environment.
Proficiency in data analysis to support decision making and solve problems.
Proven success working with a cross-functional team.
Advanced communication & presentation skills
Ability to prioritize and keep work moving on multiple tasks simultaneously.
You must be a high-energy, high-character, business professional with an unwavering commitment to excellence for yourself, the customer, and our company.
Travel expectation is not expected to exceed 50%.
