    Job DescriptionPRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

    As a Sales Engineer at EFJohnson, you will be a trusted technical advisor, championing our Land Mobile Radio (LMR) solutions. You are pivotal in crafting our technology vision, translating complex functional requirements into robust technical solutions, and enhancing our sales efforts by providing expert knowledge and support throughout the sales lifecycle.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and drive the technology vision for EFJohnson's solutions, emphasizing P25, LMR, DMR, and LTE technologies.
    • Conduct pre-sales activities, including product demonstrations, responding to RFx queries, and articulating our product suite to technical and business stakeholders.
    • Collaborate closely with the sales support and product management teams to ensure customer requirements are accurately translated into actionable solutions.
    • Act as a technical consultant within the sales team, advising on the best-fit solutions and strategies to maximize customer satisfaction and sales success.
    • Engage in customer-facing activities, representing EFJohnson at industry events, seminars, and conferences.
    • Maintain solid and strategic relationships with customers, understand their needs, and position EFJohnson as a critical partner in their operations.
    • Support the sales team in CRM management, opportunity mapping, and competitive intelligence gathering to counter competitor strategies effectively.
    • Participate in developing sales strategies with the sales team and contribute to achieving sales targets.
    • Ensure personal knowledge remains current with market trends and organizational objectives.
    • Communicate effectively with all levels of management to align strategies and optimize solution delivery.
    • Manage extensive travel and flexible hours, including significant overnight travel, to meet business demands.

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Minimum of five years of experience in domain-specific sales, particularly with state, local government, or public safety sectors.
    • Strong technical foundation in LMR and LTE solutions, with a solid understanding of public safety communications.
    • Familiarity with international sales and government procurement processes.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and effective document management.
    • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.

    Core Competencies:

    • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, capable of engaging with international customers, small groups, and executive-level management.
    • In-depth understanding of business operations and the ability to navigate company policies and procedures.
    • Capacity to create solutions and intuitive interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to lead and inspire teams.

    Travel Requirements:

    Up to 75% travel, including extensive overnight stays, especially during bid preparation phases and industry events.
