    Description

    League Studio is the entity within Riot Games that makes League of Legends (LoL), Wild Rift, and Teamfight Tactics (TFT), along with other games in development. To support the aspirations of these games, the Studio makes significant investments in developing and advancing the game platform through the Tech Foundations (TF) organization.

    League Data Central (LDC) is a team within TF accountable for decision science, data products, data capture, and data warehousing and governance for League Studio. Our mission is to harness the power of data for player-centric decisions and AI/ML products that make it better to be a player.

    As the Principal Technical Product Manager (TPM) for LDC, you will lead the vision and strategic development and partner with Delivery on executing data initiatives. Your expertise in AI/ML and product leadership will direct the advancement of data capabilities, guiding informed decision-making and fostering product innovation in partnership with game teams. You will report to the Director, TPM of LDC.

    Responsibilities:

  • Craft and champion a vision, strategy, and roadmap for personalization and experimentation to support Insights and game teams in better understanding the holistic player experience and developing AI/ML products
  • Mentor and guide other TPMs, subject matter experts (SMEs), and project leads within the organization
  • Define and align vision, strategy, OKRs, and KPIs with key partners, setting clear expectations for quantifiable impact and accountability. Secure buy-in from stakeholders through influence and partnership
  • Manage technical complexity, validating requirements and designs for data-intensive projects, and communicating technical tradeoffs to a non-technical audience
  • Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, adeptly anticipating future challenges and orchestrating multi-team responses to meet the evolving needs of our players and development teams
  • Develop an understanding of and empathy for our development and data consumer customers, which you'll use to make player-focused decisions
  • Partner and collaborate with Engineering (data engineers, software engineers, and machine learning engineers), Data Science (data scientists), and Production (product and delivery) on LDC to align the product and technical plans
  • Build relationships with partner teams across Riot GamesRequired Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant data product experience
  • A solid foundation in AI/ML, data analysis, experimental design, and their application in product development, supported by a technical bachelor's or master's degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Excellent teamwork, team leadership, communication, and stakeholder management
  • Deep understanding of player/customer needs within complex audience segments and the ability to anticipate future demands
  • Exceptional ability to convey complex concepts across diverse audiences, fostering understanding and collaborationDesired Qualifications:
  • Experience collaborating with platform and infrastructure teams to implement large-scale experimentation platforms and educating and influencing product and customer teams in using experimentation to continually improve the player experience
  • A history of partnering with creative stakeholders and technical teams in gaming, media, or similar fields, emphasizing a data-informed approach over a data-driven one For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes players' delight.
