- Apply systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications.
- Design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing or modification of computer systems or programs, including prototypes, based on and related to user or system design specifications.
- Performs security assessment and best practices of databases both on-prem and in the cloud.
- Adheres to change control procedures when implementing changes to production environments.
- Reviews and assesses user needs; makes recommendations for resources required to maintain and/or expand service levels.
- Develops documentation, including diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures, and works instructions.
- Performs after-hours support duties to maintain production systems and resolve production issues to ensure proper service levels at all times.
- Writes and maintains policies, procedures, test/assessment results and other types of documentation as required.
- Partners with stakeholders and Business Analyst across the organization to resolve issues, provides technical feedback, and to contributes to the overall security and design of the production environments.
- Manages enterprise databases and their server operating systems and software, including Azure and VMware environments.
- Responsible for overseeing all database environments which includes architecting secure solutions that incorporate high availability and redundancy while controlling costs.
- Remediate database related SOC and audit findings.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of and complies with all departmental and security policies and procedures, as well as federal regulations applicable to the position, including BSA requirements.
- Completes all required compliance training as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Education: Advanced Certifications related to Database Technology or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology is required. Two years of equivalent experience may substitute for every one year of education. Microsoft SQL certifications are preferred. Other database certifications are desirable.
- Experience: A minimum of 8 years equivalent work experience in a technical position with broad hands-on knowledge of IT infrastructure and database administration.
- Has hands on experience in implementing and maintaining databases in Azure and VMware environments.
- Also has hands on experience in supporting Data Analytics, Data Warehouses and PowerBI is required.
- Strong knowledge of applicable practices and laws relating to data privacy and protection is required.
- Experience in designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting database servers is required.
- Deep knowledge of database structures, theories, principles & practices, with hands-on experience tuning and troubleshooting is required.
- Understanding of organizational goals and objectives with the ability to translate those into purpose-built and performant database solutions is essential.
- Experience in the following required: Microsoft SQL product suite and Azure Database Administration including MSQL, MySQL and Security/Compliance policy enforcement.
- Experience with data lake/warehouse administration, maintenance, and security hardening.
- Experience with Server and Cloud virtualization, including Azure and VMware.
- Knowledge of MS Windows Server, DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory Services (security, account provisioning, group policy scripting, AD-Certificate Services, etc.), VMware ESX.
- Azure Cloud Services, Microsoft Power BI, PowerApps and Windows Server OS.
- Experience with database server performance tuning and monitoring tools.
- Solid networking familiarity with TCP/IP and other network protocols.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, verbal, presentation, and time management skills.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problems solving skills required.
- Strong ability to document solutions, procedures, and processes.
- Ability to deliver a high level of customer service by providing accurate information, responding to requests in a timely manner, and following up through completion.
- Ability to take ownership of tasks from start to finish, while keeping stakeholders updated.
