    Gridiron IT is seeking a Network Support Technician to support a program in Arlington, VA.

    JOB DESCRIPTION
    As a Network Support Technician, you will contribute as part of a team to support the organization's network. In this role you will be part of the team supporting our Microsoft cloud services, network, and security technologies. Responsibilities include supporting operations, documentation, troubleshooting and repair, responding to service requests/incidents, monitoring, and reporting.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Support infrastructure team with the organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), operating systems, physical and virtual servers/environments, firewalls, wireless devices, and other physical hardware?
    • Assist with installation, configuration and routine IT maintenance of computer network equipment, software, and licenses?
    • Assist with the initial assessment, proof of concept, and recommendation of new software and hardware technologies ?
    • Test new software releases and updates to ensure compatibility with existing systems, minimize user impact, and ensure compatibility?
    • Provide support to Info Ops teams special projects ?
    • Triage Infrastructure tickets and facilitate troubleshooting of escalated Service Team tickets
    • Follow policy and procedures designed to maintain network security and data integrity
    • Maintain site documentation in IT Glue (IT Documentation Software) including telecom and Internet Service Provider (ISP) contracts?
    • Document all infrastructure issues and resolutions in a Lansweeper ticket?
    • Perform other duties as assigned to support IT Operations
    QUALIFICATIONS
    Required Skills and Experience
    • 2+ years of experience in a network role
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related subject
    • Proven experience in hands-on networking, routing, and switching
    • Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Strong technical knowledge of computer operating systems, hardware and software, network security and security standards
    • Strong interpersonal skills to assist non-technical individuals with complex technical issues
    Desired Skills and Experience
    • CompTIA's A+ and Network+ certifications
    • Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN's, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
    • Working knowledge of network infrastructure monitoring tools
    • Understanding of how databases, networks, and other critical functions work
    • Understanding of programming languages such as SQL, Python, Perl, and JSON
