ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Non rotating 40 hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities

Directs the activities and operations of Housing and Community Development (HCD) Department. Directs staff oversight of all divisions of HCD. Conducts staff meetings, resolves overall issues and citizen complaints, and interprets local, state and federal laws and regulations. Overall oversight of the Mortgage Credit Certificate Program.

Provides staff support to the City Council, City Manager, Deputy City Manager, Assistant City Managers, City Secretary's Office, various technical boards, and the Corpus Christi Community Improvement Corporation.

Directs the preparation and implementation of HUD's 5-year Consolidated Annual Action Plan, Annual Action Plans, and the Comprehensive Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER).

Directs the preparation of all funding Agreements and Amendments. Represents the City of Corpus Christi and the Housing and Community Development Department at public hearings and departmental functions.

Presents all City Council, the Type A Board, other City Boards/Commissions and other related agency items for informational or action related purposes.

Reviews activities to improve department performance and ensures all department performance measures are being met. Directs the development and achievement of the Department's Annual Business Plan and overall funding budget. Analyzes the activities and costs to prepare performance reports. May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Position requires a Bachelor's degree with minimum of ten (10) years of experience. A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered. A valid driver's license is required.

Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire.

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.

In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the general public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services.

This position is classified as Safety Sensitive.
