    Description
    Description: This role is part of the Quality Assurance Support Team for the F-35 Flight Test Program at NAS Patuxent River, MD. The main responsibilities include conducting inspections for on-aircraft maintenance, repairs, and modifications. The inspector's tasks involve checking work quality, completeness, functionality, and adherence to processes, procedures, and specifications. Additionally, they will inspect material review items post disposition. The position requires providing detailed descriptions of non-compliant conditions to support Material Review decisions efficiently. The role also involves final inspections and accepting vehicles for flight release, along with potential travel for off-site testing activities.
    • Must achieve an Interim Secret and later a Secret Security Clearance.
    Basic Qualifications:
    • Five years of Aviation Maintenance experience with Quality Control/Assurance, including at least 3 years in aircraft ground operations on an active flight line.
    • Experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings/specifications/maintenance instructions to evaluate deviations and determine operations' acceptability.
    • Proficiency in FOD/Tool Control, understanding of HAZMAT, Hydraulic Fluid Contamination, Safety, Maintenance Information Systems, and Training programs.
    • Experience in audits, inspections, report writing, and correspondence related to assigned duties.
    Desired Skills:
    • Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and inspection instruments to verify conformance to technical data and document nonconforming conditions.
    • General knowledge of AS9100 standards, quality documentation, nonconforming material, product auditing, and surveillance techniques.
    • Specific Flight Test experience is advantageous.
